Carbon brake pads

looking for some advice. I have a 2014 F Type R (RWD) absolutely love this car and have had it for a few years now. It came with the Carbon Ceramic Discs as an added option. The front pads are getting low so will need replacing soon ( car has done 44000 miles and the discs are still in great shape and good for another 60000 miles). In the UK a set of pads is Circa £1500, is there an alternative Ceramic pad that can be used with the carbon discs or does it have to be the OEM Brembo pads?

I didn't know you could spec carbon brakes.
If the original discs have done 44k I'd be tempted to stick to OEM. A set of pads is surely cheaper than a new set of discs if pattern pads cause wear..

Have you weighed the discs? I understand it's their mass that determines whether a change is necessary, not the disc thickness.

I think op is just asking if there are alternate pads available, not discs. Those are in good condition.

Sometime ago there was a thread on the US forum where a potential CN supply was mentioned, but I don't recall details...

Hi, do you have the JLR and Brembo part number for the pads to check if there is an alterative ceramic pads. If you don't track the car I would be looking at replacing the discs and pads which will be cheaper then just ceramic pads. I have just bought fronts Rears drilled & grooved with pad for £340.

The JLR part numbers for tho OP's CC front braking system are shown here...

The front brake pads are T2R11420 and the main dealer price is £1,225.36 inc VAT so worth having a shop around first.

Yes, T2R11420 is the correct part number for the front brake pads on the OP's car which has 398mm carbon-ceramic front discs. Always worth double checking they are compatible before purchasing them on ebay or Amazon etc. Hopefully the OP will get good quality pads a lot cheaper than the main dealer price!

It's also worth the OP having a read through this topic beforehand...https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6558
