Brake pad mystery

Hi everyone. Hope some of you might be able to help. My brakes are squeaky and I took my F-Type V6 S to my local garage for them to have a look. Before they even removed the wheels to inspect they thought they found the issue. They could see the rear brake pads were cheap aftermarket replacements made by TRW. They told me I should contact Jaguar and have them replaced with original parts. This is bizarre because I've never had the brake pads replaced. Just wondering if the mechanic was mistaken. Can anyone else see what brand their rear brake pads are and if they're the same as mine? If they're not original I have no idea how this could have happened. Do people steal brake pads!?<div><br></div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/584/IMG_0172.jpg" height="700" width="525" border="0" /><br></div><div><br></div>

Hi, I'm having the same problem with squeaky brakes they start to squeak after about 20mins of driving so I'm thinking after they have warmed up as when the weather is raining or damp it doesn't seem to happen. The car is 66reg with 2k on the clock so pads are all new so I've booked it in at the dealership who said they would take all the wheels off have a look and give all the discs a clean but why would it make that noise after 20mins of driving? When driving in town and I brake people look round to see what the noise is and it's not the exhaust!!

Yeah, exactly the same here. They're fine starting from cold then get squeaky after warming up.<div><br></div><div>One thing you could try is drive for a bit with the brakes gently on. This can clear any glazing and dirt and stuff. It helped me a bit but didn't fully solve the issue.<br><div><br></div><div>I'm going in next week to my dealership so they can have a look. Likely just need a clean. Hope you get it sorted and I'll post back if I discover anything new. At least I know I've not got dodgy aftermarket brakes fitted.</div></div>

Thanks yes let me no how you go on as mines not going in till the 18th April so if you find the cause I've got something to tell them to look for. Cheers
