Brake fittings, please help!

I hope someone is able to help me out.

I am trying to replace my brakes. Ordered a set of EBC brake pads. But my mechanic says I need new fittings too.

For the life of me I can't find fitting kits anywhere online. Tried calling main dealer and they said they only supply them with brakepads. Quoted £505 for the full set of four.

Does anyone know if they can be bought separately? Are there some compatible type parts?

2017 F-type V6 340hp.

Thanks!!

There are no ‘fittings’ required for new brake pads. I’ve also previously used EBC on the F Type, so am certain they are a straight swap.

He may however be referencing the 2 pad wear sensors, one front one rear. Although if not damaged or triggered by low pads, they can be reused For a few £’s an easy purchase and available from pretty much any of the usual aftermarket parts dealers or eBay, etc.
I’d check with your mechanic though to be sure what he’s expecting.

It was some set of springs and clips that he said were worn too?

The new pads have built in springs which locate inside the caliper piston, so are inluded. The ends of the pads fit directly into the caliper with no other fixings.

The only other spring is the anti rattle cover on the face of the caliper, which unless broken doesn't wear out.

I'm guessing he's never fitted F Type pads before, but if you can get a clear explanation I'm happy to point you to any parts.

It's not a Jag specialist but there aren't any in the county, he's a good bloke used him for years, he's done the brakes on my supra before etc, could just be unfamiliar with this one or being cautious, who knows

Well, the new EBC pads went in without any problems and are working well. Thanks again for the info @cj10
