Hi guys. <div><br></div><div>Right i have the v6 s with performance brake pack i think it is. But i feel like the brakes are not as good as they could be. I have a Subaru hatch and have a big brake kit on that and it is amazing at stopping. So my thoughts are do jaguar offer a drilled and grooved disk and if not were could i get them from. Not only will they help with the braking they will look really cool as well. I don't want to go the root of 8k for the ceramic brakes. I'm just after a bit more stopping power. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>V6 s</div><div>Black </div><div>20 inch alloys </div><div>Red roof </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

jobegold,<div><span style="line-height: 1.4;"><br></span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;">First thing I would suggest is to go back to the dealer as soon as possible. </span></div><div><div>Get them to assess the performance, just in case you are getting used to a light car, that has big brakes, and comparing it to the F, which of course will feel different....or possibly there may be a technical problem.<div><br></div><div>Failing that, I'd find a quiet road somewhere where no one else is around do a couple of emergency stops from around 30-40MPH. This will (if wet or the pedal is stamped on hard enough) make the ABS work slightly, warm the pads/disks sufficiently to clear any glaze that may have built up on the pads. This is the most likely cause if you are a generally, gentle driver. I seem to remember that you had problems with your brakes before, something to do with rust? Surface rust overnight in the UK is tally normal, and will clear with a few presses of the pedal, however, again, over time if you don't give the brakes some wellie, the rust impregnates and glazes the pads and reduces performance.</div><div><br></div><div>Failing that..... I' trade it in for a Red one. Black ones are known to have problems coming to a halt, possibly due to having slightly larger rear ends!??</div></div>

Hi Jobegold,<div>I have a V6S and my brakes were a little wishy washy to start with but once they had bedded in they were fine, as Tel as advised use then a bit and bed them in, I also recommended coming of a motorway slip road as fast as is legally aloud of course, and apply the brakes light to medium force for a longer period, so you are braking over the full distance of the slip road, rather than just the last miniute, this puts the brakes through a gentle heat cycle which can also help with bedding in.</div><div><br></div><div>I drove an R with the carbon ceramic brakes fitted and to be honest they did not feel very nice when driving normally, in fact they did not give much confidence at all, but once they had warmed up a bit they became much better. Clearly the brakes on the F Type are large over sized performance brakes, so when driving gently and easy, they will not perform to the best ability.</div><div><br></div><div>Hope this helps</div><div>Jamie</div>
