Bonnet Vents

I had a stone chip on one of my bonnet vents (driver side) and had a local garage repaint it, unfortunately it is a poor colour match and needs redoing it was only cheap and just going to wite it off as experience not to use them again. I know its personal choice but just wondering on peoples thoughts as to what looks best.

Should I :-

1. Get it repainted by another body shop and hope for a better colour match

2. Have both vents painted gloss black to match the rest of my black trim

3. Buy some Carbon Fibre Bonnet vents to replace them both

My money would be on carbon fibre.

You could have them wrapped in black/carbon and then see if you like them before spending a lot.

Get them repainted by a smart repairer - my local guy is excellent at colour matching.

Take them to a body shop or a smart repairer who does parts panels, not just small stone chips and get a proper paint job done.
Sticking black or carbon fibre on unless part of a wider series of changes just doesn’t work.

Decided to go for the Carbon Fibre vents for now - mainly because it was a quick fix and cost wasnt much different than getting them repainted. Plus since I still have the others I can always get them repainted later.
I wasnt sure at first but now I like them

I’ve changed my opinion. As you have black wheels, and pano roof the black vents don’t look out of place and work.
Silicone silver - an incredible colour, which I had on an Evoque….loved it so much I kept the car 5 years.

Where did you buy the carbon fibre vents, and how much were they?

The vents were brand new on Ebay - was asking £300 but accepted my offer of £250 for the pair

Bought the car 12 months ago and the colour was advertised by the dealer as Ammonite - it was only afterwards that I found the colour name and code on the door label that said Silicon Silver. In bright Sunlight it seems to have a sort of bronze sheen to it

They look great, good choice
