Bike Carrier for V6S Coupe

I know that this question was asked in 2017

BUT - DOES ANYONE HAVE PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO CARRY A BIKE ON A V6S COUPE?

Angry Bird in America do have a possible solution and when clicking on Knightspeed in Ireland the site is not found.

Hi.

You have two options, Seasuckers ont the roof\rear window, see video below. Or the Birds Automotive setup that I have from the US. I always remove the wheels and put them in the put to ensure the rear lights can still be seen.

Of course, someone will come along and tell you to buy a van, but there's no better day then driving to the hills via your favourite B road, have an epic ride with mates, then head home.

SCZ is correct, exchange f type for the new v8 Defender, then I am sure JlR will provide you with the correct tools for the job. Or take up golf, running or swimming as all that kit will fit.

I had discounted the sucker solution as I wondered if the roof glass might pull out at speed.
The Bird solution seemed excellent but could not work out if the rear lower moulding would have to be modified or have holes drilled in it, if you have a photograph of how it fixes please post.

Sorry for the delay. So the Bird rack requires no permanent or irreversible changes. It uses one of the chassis braces and two rear exhaust mount. Really simple to do once the car is off the ground. Few pictures:

Yeah I gave that feedback to Sam@Birds, spoken to him a few times as I previously had one fitted to my Z4, he's concerned someone would copy his design if he posted better quality pictures, but it does make his site look a bit early 2000's.

Have you considered the Sea Sucker bicycle racks? Much easier for you to fit than the Birds bike carrier and also much more aesthetically pleasing....especially on the F-Type! https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=60392#p60392

Or is it that you prefer the Birds design shown earlier in this topic, due to any difficulties you may have in lifting the bike onto the roof of your coupe?

If you're fairly handy with a spanner and have jack\axle stands you'll be fine. Took me around an hour or so.

How are they fitted? Are there modifications to the car and once done are they easy to slot into place.

I couldn't consider the roof type as I wouldn't be able to lift the bike that high.

I can take some pictures tomorrow if it helps as mine is actually off the car at the moment as I'm getting the rear shock bushes replaced. Basically one end mounts on the rear cross bar and the front from the exhaust hangers. No modifications required and fully reversible. It's actually quite simple, but very effective and sturdy. With that said, I only ever carry one bike and I put the wheels in the boot so not to block the rear lights. You could of course get a "trailer board".

Don't forget if you buy it from the US you'll have VAT and import duty upon arrival in the country.
