Hi guys.
I've been stalking this site for about 8 months now ie reading your comments and concerns about the ftype as it was a car I really had a thing for since the first day I saw one. So 9 days ago I took the plunge and bought a 66reg BDE with a thousand miles on the clock and one owner from Lancaster jaguar in Tamworth who I must say we're very helpful unlike my local dealer!!! The thing that drew me to the BDE was the colour which I love and in the time I have had it gets so much attention in a good way and the noise is to die for. Having read your comments over the months and saying you need the reversing camera and the car didn't have one so I thought not for me but have a test drive anyway and to be honest after my tts and van it wasn't any different to what I'm used too so it is now sat on my drive and my pride and joy and better than I ever thought and it's thanks to you guys with your comments that I decided to get one. Hope I can contribute to the forum in the future. All the best. Ian.<edited><editID>Gillie</editID><editDate>2017-02-19 19:32:51</editDate></edited>

Welcome Ian. Nice intro..

Post up a photo when you're ready.....we like photos
Welcome to the forum. The BDE is a great colour, photos don't really do it justice. I can't think of any car (or bike) I've owned that remains as much fun more than a year after buying it. Actually I think I'm enjoying it more now that I've got used to it, than early on. I suppose it's like learning a musical instrument, with practice you can play more tunes with the exhaust .

And as you mention, people seem to love the F type, even the non car buffs.

Welcome Ian, and congrats on your car. I have only ever seen one BDE in the flesh and think it looks amazing, enjoy and I'd love to see some pics of the wee beastie

Hi guys.
Having a problem uploading photos off my phone but will keep trying. Like you I've never seen another one on the road but saying that I hardly ever see an ftype either which makes them even more special!!! Lancaster jaguar made a video of it which is on YouTube if anyone is interested in seeing it until I can figure this upload question!! Ian

Are you using a Samsung for these by any chance? I fell foul of the 'which way is up' for the camera.

If yes, take them all with phone sideways ... if you takw them with the phone upright they all fall over when you post them!

Looks fabulous, enjoy safely!

Hi, I don't no what happened there with the photo I'm just amazed I managed to upload without any help I must be getting better in my old age!!! Thanks I'm a very happy chap. Does anyone else have a struggle getting hold of there seat belt when they get in or is it just me? Ian

Hi gillie,

Welcome. Looks like BDE are taking over.
I have enjoyed every min in mine. I will have to keep an eye out for you as Stockport isn't far from me.

Hi there and I've never seen another one on the road though there are one or two for sale and they would be hard to miss as being such a great colour and good choice by the way I fell for it the first time I saw it!! I will keep my eye open for you. Cheers

Hi I'm not tall but it still gets trapped though I do have my seat set that it goes all the way back so that it's easy to get in though I shouldn't complain!!!!

Hi Gillie. I.ve got the same colour BDE as yourself. Congrats. I.ve had mine for a month now. Had a 15 plate red 340 , which l loved. The BDE in Ultra Blue is the dogs danglies for me. Its the first thing that anyone mentions. I know what you mean about the seat belt, it should come out automatically , like a Bmw Coupe l once had. Also l find it rubs against the seat!!!. I really like the AWD. I love the car as a whole. People stop me and ask if they can take a photo of it. Enjoy it m8
