Battery leak

Hi all<br />I was putting the locking wheel nut back in the holder which is next to the battery and noticed slight leakage on the top and down the side, I also have white residue on the base tray that the battery sits in. I'm I right in saying that all the new modern batteries are sealed. Anyone else had this ?

Just checked. Mine is clean as a whistle <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

They replaced mine under warranty, and left the puncture repair bottle and holder rolling around in the boot, which I put back myself. Not a easy job as it should have been fitted before the new battery was installed. 😡

Nope, not the slightest hint of a leak, and ours spends most of its' winter life connected to a CTEK.<div><br></div><div> They are not sealed, in actual fact they have a vent pipe running to the exterior of the boot. They are AGM; They still have acid in them, but it is absorbed within a glass matting.<div><br></div><div>Sounds like your battery is clapped, possibly a cell may have gone down. In any case, I would have it changed out under warranty.</div></div>
