Back with a new cat

Having reluctantly sold my f-type back in April last year I've gone and bought another one which I'm proud to show off here.

Hopefully get to meet some of you guys again after the 2 drive outs that I went on, one which was around Wilton end of 2022 and the 10 year anniversary at The British Motor Museum on April 1st last year. Great days out!

Cheers

Rob

Welcome back!

Enjoy.

JFYI - Just to confirm that is an MY17 (model year) specification. As per the "H" in the 10th character of the VIN. Just in case you haven't updated your signature from the previous car and in case of any future posts for help.

Lovely car - do you know which shade of grey that is?

The dealer called it Ammonite Grey or Corris Grey

I liked it mainly for the spec as well as the colour and in particular the black exterior pack

If you post the paint code from the door plate someone on here can probably give you a definitive answer. I'm assuiming you care, of course! ;)

It's code 1AB which is ammonite grey metallic - not sure why dealer mentioned corris grey

It is 45982 = Corris Grey

Land Rover and Jaguar share the same paint codes but call them different names.

Land Rover Ultimate Black is Jaguar Santaroni Black.
Land Rover Ammonite Grey is Jaguar Corris Grey.
Etc

Thank you Mr R - it explains why both names mentioned by the dealer then.

Must be a dealer thing - my car was advertised as Ammonite Grey, but after I bought it I found out it was actually Silicon Silver on the door sticker. Not bothered as I bought it for the colour not the name of the colour of course, but you would think the dealer could get it correct!

I think Jaguar consolidated their names with the LR range - mine was otiginally Glacier White, but is now Yulong White (same paint code).

Hi Purplecat, just joined the forum today as I have a 2020 P380 on the way, also in Silicon SIlver. I believe Ammonite / Corris grey is a premium option and the SIlicon grey a more expensive premium option. I don't know if that means it gets more metallic flakes or has greater "depth" to it. But if mine looks anything like the pic you posted, I think I'm going to be very happy. Great pic.

It looks different in bright sunlight, seems to have an almost bronze sheen to it
