Back to a Jag.....

Hi all, been driving a Jag for most of the last 11 years or so although recently had an affair with a Merc which was fun and still is at least for the next 2 weeks or so.

I am about to become the proud owner of a P450 dressed in the lovely Firenze Red with black exterior pack, panoramic roof and gloss black wheels. The black really does seem to work with the red.
The v8 I have definitely missed from my XKR days!

A little about me; I am now the wrong side of 50 but I still play sport, covid notwithstanding of course. I am married to a very understanding wife - the P450 business case got passed without a dragons den style review - she loved the colour! Kids are grown up so a 2 seater needn't be a downside anymore.

While not an avid social media user, the likes of this forum are always good for interesting info, advice and updates so looking forward to being a member and of course to being a fellow Ftype owner.

Welcome to the loony bin Drizzt - Your'e a bit young for a Merc...another 10 years maybe ;-)
Get some coating on the Gloss Black wheels quick (if it's a new car). They show scratches very easily.

I didn't have to suffer an interrogation either, so long as I went for Red/Black and not Rhodium Silver as I wanted!

You chose well, and of course, Red and Black is a top choice without any bias whatsoever.

P.S We have a 2014 XFS P/Folio in IRR/Black for SWMBO and the mutt. Great machine, and means we don't feel out of place going to Jaaag meets if it's hooning it down.

Thx guys and good shout on the wheels Tel. Yes brand spanker. I don't know how tough they are supposed to be so will need to sort something.

Interesting wheels, not my cup of tea. Having had Gloss Black, I'm so glad I went to Satin Gunmetal.

Marvellous stuff.
I applied this to mine from new. Mines 5 years old, I removed and clayed the wheels and re-applied a generous coat this year - Didn't really need it. Lasts really well.

If it's a keeper and you can afford to PPF the body then do it whilst it's good...they do attract 'gravel rash'!

Black the exhaust tips out with High Temp Heat Shrink and it'll look brill ;-)

Welcome to the P450 club \o/

Going to 2nd what Tel recommended, that Gtechniq wheel stuff is superb. Their glass sealant is excellent too.

Thx Cluck, I have a detailer lined up to do ceramic coat and wheel protection but otherwise yes I would be getting the gtechniq stuff myself.
