AWD in Different Driving Modes

Does the AWD have less effect in Dynamic mode that in the standard driving mode or snow mode?<div><br></div><div>The reason for asking is that it was raining the hard this week and I found myself at a 'T' junction turning right onto an 'A' road which had lots of run off room and no traffic. So from a starting position, I pressed the loud peddle a little harder than I normally would. The car took off and the back-end slid out quite a bit and I was happy to have the extra space. It was soon bought under control and was quite fun, but I thought the AWD would have handled it bit better than that.</div><div><br></div><div>Is this what you would expect?</div>

I get the same thing pulling out of my road. I'm not sure whether it's it's the stability control allowing more play or just enthusiastic pedal use coupled with cold/wet tyres and road conditions. Now you mention it I'll try in dynamic mode and in normal mode and see if it's a throttle thing or a stability thing.

I get the same in my Audi TTS.<br><br>AWD doesn't mean drive like an idiot in all conditions. <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /><br><br>I nearly came a cropper on a roundabout when I was "racing" a car that was trying to cut me up. Back end fish-tailed. I think AWD prevented me from totally wiping out. It didn't allow me to put all the power down without some sliding around.<br>

AWD is reserved for off-roading. You don't need it on tarmac surely! <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" height="17" width="17" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /><div> </div><div>We are slowly converting to Yanks..C'mon GB, where's ya ba!!s? </div><div> </div><div>Contrary to popular modern belief/fashion/fad, AWD does not compensate for lack of knowledge...great for off-roading, towing horse boxes, snow covered lakes and the like.</div>

I spend a lot of time in the US of A, so it must be rubbing off on me. I've always said I'm an average driver and anything that stops me being in a hedge, I'm buying it <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /><div><br></div><div><br></div>

<div> </div><div>Ha, at least you are still shiny side up!</div><div> </div><div>The Jag AWD is biased towards the rears, and only when it notices the rear break loose, does it clutch in the front wheels. It's a very basic system, and nothing like the Quattro, so expect lots of delay, which is most likely what happened in your case.</div><div> </div><div>If you keep breaking loose and it starts to be a bit of a shocker, then run in snow mode for a while, then go to normal, then lastly dynamic once you have mastered the previous modes...or just hook your horse box up <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" height="17" width="17" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /></div>

lol. I forgot to tick on the towbar option, I'll take it slow <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />
