Approved Used warranty claims with missed services

Morning all,

Does anyone have any experience with making claims on the Approved Used warranty with a car (F-Type) that has had a significant service history gap?

In this example, the car being sold has missed its 36, 48, and 60 month services (drove 16k miles in this time), but is being sold by a Jaguar dealership with the 165 point check and Approved Used warranty.

Would this service history gap void any warranty claims? For example, if the engine died in 6 months due to oil 'sludge' build up, would I be £15k out of pocket?

Thanks,

I would be more concerned if the dealer was not a Jaguar main dealer, if I remember correctly the dealer will apply warranty if the car passes all the 165 point checks ( these are pretty pointless IMO) and is serviced before being sold by them that being said, the service intervals are yearly OR 16,000 miles not one or the other, plenty of choice out there so unless the car is particularly cheap or the exact spec you are looking for find another, you might be convinced by a year’s warranty what about once warranty is finished can you renew ? When you come to sell with those services missing might be difficult or certainly harder to move on 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you read Jaguar warranty conditions for me the answer would be Yes, they could void any claim. Albeit the car may have not done the miles (few do) surprised it’s actually for sale with a Jaguar dealership and that they are able to provide cover on its history as it’s not been touched since its second service/year.

I got them to do some digging and they found a 01/2023 service making things a bit easier to stomach.

I’m getting in writing that the warranty will still be completely valid with the missed services.

I think the fact that it has been put back into the Approved Used network kind of ‘resets’ things.

When I picked mine up it had had it’s 5 year service late (and not at a main dealer or specialist) and came with the 7 year service stamp, because that was the ‘next’ scheduled service. It never had a 6 year service stamp. 3 warranty claims without an issue.
