Apple CarPlay issues

I have a F-Type P300 2020 and have been getting increasing issues with Apple CarPlay.

It always seems to connect straight away with no issues in the mornings, yet on my return drives often the CarPlay can take around a minute to connect, and then rarely when it causes a bigger nuisance it doesn’t connect at all and comes up with the error "Connection failed. Disconnect USB cable, reconnect and try again."
No matter how many times I reconnect the cable it won’t connect at this point.
Usually the next day, the CarPlay will start working again.
I’ve read others with this issue but haven’t really been able to see any clear solutions, so was wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks

Have you tried shutting down/switching off your iPhone, then restarting it?
That can often make a difference; and worked on my wife’s MINI a few weeks ago. 👍

Also check what version of software the entertainment system is running. There were lots of updates for the entertainment system (Software updates over the air) for Apple Car Play stability.

It may sound silly, but it might be as simple as fluff in the iphone cable port.

I've had this a few times with one of my cars and a cocktail stick and a few minutes can make a big difference.

Worth a try..

Thanks for the suggestions, have cleaned out the port and will see if it makes a difference.
Previously checked for software updates on the car and it said it was all up to date.

Have you tried a streaming box like carlink or ottocast then you don't have to keep plugging in and out.
