Anyone know what this bleed valve is for and what fighting torque is?

Hello,
Think I’ve found one of the coolant leaks on my car that’s just come back from the dealer.

Does anyone recognise this pipe, passenger side just in front of the bulkhead?

My guess it goes into the cabin for heating it goes to the heater matrix.

Seems to be a leak, as coolant can be seen on the plastic cap retainer

Feels that the cap/cover is only finger tight.
Shaped like it would take a spanner but don’t want to over tighten…guess dealer may have done that already!

Anyone have a tightening spec? Might be on topix

Now you say that it does.
Guess the question is…is that air con fluid or just a splash from re filling coolant or just where a leak landed???

Took the cap off and you can see the high pressure valve (like a giant tire valve underneath and that looks fine

So plastic cap is just a dust cap

Does anyone know what colour air con would be??? Or is it a gas ???

It's air con oil, coolant is orange. Those valves often leak and need replacing. The plastic cap is a dust cap not a seal. Take the cap off and clean the green off with some tissue and degreaser if you have it. Drip a little water mixed with washing up liquid into the valve and turn the car on with the ac on max, see if its bubbling, if it is you need to take it back for repair. If there's no bubbles replace the cap and write it off as a spill during top up at a service. If the green comes back over time then it's leaking and needs to be replaced at the dealership. Don't try and change the valve yourself, it's pressurised

As it says on the cap the torque is 2.5 lb/in which is barely finger tight
