Stuck southbound just after junction 3. Been static for 3 hours now šŸ˜­

I do have a question though. Switched engine, lights and ignition off promptly after stopping. Only radio on for last 3 hours.

But 10 minutes ago I got a warning, "Battery Low, Start Engine" which I've done.

Is 3 hours battery life with just the radio on a sign it's time for a new battery ? Or reasonable ?

How long do I need to tick over for ? There's no sign of moving yet.

Appreciate any advice. Apart from don't use the M3 tonight šŸ˜‰
 
Oh dear - thatā€™s not good. A serious crash apparently. Have you now escaped?
As for your battery question I donā€™t know but 3 hours seems reasonable to me - it wonā€™t just be the ready that is ā€œonā€ when you are listening to the radio

Thanks jagseven. Still here unfortunately. Over 4 hours now.

I idled for 20 minutes and switched her off, including the radio. Fingers crossed that's enough to get started.
 
Be thankful for not being on an EV. When they warn about low battery there's no engine to switch on! šŸ˜Š

Hope you get home OK. It looks like it's due to reopen in the next half an hour.

Which sound system do you have? The Meridian 770W needs a fair few amps, the 380W about half of that. Give your battery an overnight charge when you get home and you should be good to go.
 
Hi scm. Sadly it's the cheaper non-surround Meridian. Low volume, just listening to the news to while away almost 5 hours now. But the screen was on all that time. Should have switched it off. Is that what stealth mode is for ?
 
I was once stuck on the m4 in a honda civic for about 5 hours in the hot sun and only a bottle of pina colada to drink! (Not mine and I didn't drink it šŸ¤£)

My battery went flat from radio and opening / closing windows periodically, meaning I needed a jump start when cars got going. So I'm sure it is possible for the radio and screen to do similar in the f type, at least you get a warning
 
Yeah, that warning was useful.

I've started up and leaving it running. Don't fancy having to call AA out after all this. I read they're turning traffic around from the back of the queue now.

How do you keep the radio on for 3 hours? Mine shuts off after 10 minutes with engine off I'm sure? Do you keep having to press the ignition (but not turn engine on?)

Yes, with the ignition off my radio turns off after 10 minutes too. But I don't have to keep switching the ignition on. Just press the round volume knob down once and it brings the radio (and screen) back to life. Then you get another 10 minutes.
