Affordable SDD options recommendation wanted

Hi!

I've just purchased a high-mile 2016 F-Type R and would like to get set up with proper diagnostic tools. I've been searching for a cable/software combination that would allow me to use SDD for the Jaguar and have stumbled upon CodeKrew. They sell "JLR SDD: Jaguar Land Rover Diagnostic Software – Latest Version (2005-2016)" and "Mongoose Pro JLR: Advanced J2534 Interface Cable" which I think would work and be relatively affordable as a combo ($230 total for software and cable).

I can't find any real reviews online for the service or the company overall. I was wondering if anyone has used this software before. I'd also take recommendations on where to find a compatible cable/software combo that allows me to use SDD for under $250 in total.
 
Buy a decent Mongoose cable as some cheaper ones can be a bit flaky which is the last thing you need when tinkering with the CCF file or updating modules. SDD is available from many places including a well-known interweb based auction site. Also consider a BSU (Battery Support Unit) which can kick out in excess of 50 amps for use whilst making changes; a normal battery charger won’t be sufficient. You can brick modules if an update fails part way through should the battery run out of juice
 
Do you know where I should look to find said BSU for under $200 ? I've seen some DIY posts on here but I'm not confident in my soldering/electrical skills to do that on my own. And I'm having trouble differentiating between the cheaper mongoose style cables; what should I look for in a mid-range price point? I only see legit mongoose cables selling for $575.
