£710 service

Hi All

Is £710 about right for a service? Quoted that by two JLR dealerships local to me.

My next service is 72 month/96,000 mile service - I'm on 26,000 miles


My last service was just coming up to 12 months ago was the 60 month/80,000 service - when i was on 23,000 miles


Is it the spark plug change making it pricey?
 
What's your reg and I'll have a look.
Plugs are supposed to be 5yr service not 6.
 
Ah a V8, 6yrs then on plugs on yours.
£385 is cheapest from main dealer including oil, plugs and transfer case oil. Sent you full details.
 
It always pays to check with the dealer exactly what they are planning to do on the service. My 2nd-year service was quoted as over £1000 and amounted to nothing more than oil, oil filter, pollen filter and brake fluid. After querying why it was so high, it came down to little more than the Y1 service but I'm sure there are many who would have simply handed over the full amount without questioning it.

If you're keeping the car a few years and want to keep within the Jaguar service network then it might also be worth having a look at the service plans, as they seem to work out at around £350 per year and cover the standard service schedule.
