2018 Essex Mini meet - Booked for Sunday 22/04/18

I asked the wife if she'd like to join us and she looked at me rather oddly and declined.. A bunch of peeps standing around admiring each other's cars.. what's not to like? :-)

To be fair to my missus it was her idea to get the Jag. I was on my second Porsche but she wanted me to get something "more classy". I have to agree that the Porsche - a mid-engine Cayman S - was a rather selfish car being pretty basic and stripped out an' all. She'd already agreed that I could have an Aston but the running costs scared the poo out of me particularly as I'd be driving it most days. Aaaand the Vantage is beginning to look a bit dated imho.

So the Jag was a natural and bloody gorgeous choice!

Is there a plan to meet somewhere first, have a drive then rock up for lunch?

I popped in to the Axe and Compass at the weekend and it looked very nice and popular! (could not get a table! lol)

So i think i will need to book us in this weekend!

I will make a reservation on Monday next week and talk to them about a reserved parking area if possible.

Hi everyone
I'd love to meet up with other owners in this region. I'm south Suffolk. Unfortunately I can't make your date but would love to be included in any future plans. Now slightly better weather is here, it's about time I got out and about a lot more with the pussy cat!
I'm really interested in arranging some European road trips, so if you are thinking of any, count me in! Happy to take an organising role too.

Do we want to drive before or after? If folks do want to meet up and drive before how about abridge garden centre cafe @ 11, before lunch at 1230 at the axe? Its got a reasonable amount of parking space and I know a couple of scenic routes from there to the axe that would take about an hour. Or chipping ongar might be more central? The library has parking - we could meet there. I'm also very happy to drive afterwards instead of before. Or open to suggestions if anyone else knows the area better. jess

Don't mind at all I am sure there will be some who will just meet at the Axe.

Happy to go with consensuses of opinion on this one.

Just a quick update guys.

We are all booked for Sunday the 22nd @ 12:30.

A reserved parking area for us has been arranged :D
