Has anyone experienced issues with the standard Jaguar radio? I have issues getting Smooth Radio channel and others whereby the signal keeps cutting out or going quieter. Some channels like Radio 1,2, are fine. My has a VW Golf and the signal received in er car is always perfect. Any suggestions would helpful.

There are 7 different regions for Smooth Radio via FM. These have different frequency ranges and I wonder if you could be on the boundary of a region. Being an analogue signal, this could cause poor signal levels.

FM:
102.2 MHz - London
100.4 MHz - North West
105.2 MHz - Scotland
97.5 MHz / 107.7 MHz - North East
105.7 MHz - West Midlands
106.6 MHz / 101.4 MHz - East Midlands
100.1 MHz / 100.8 MHz / 101.4 MHz - Lake District

Following on from Nigelc's point assuming you are using the London frequency of 102.2 FM and in Cheltenham, the coverage map indicates you are outside the coverage area. You'd be lucky to get it at all.

Not an exact science of course and some cars also have better aerials than others. I find the standard radio in mine so poor I rarely use it and just enjoy the engine and exhaust theatre.

Yes, I must be on the fringe area, however, that doesn’t explain why my wife’s 2023 VW Golf gets a perfect signal.

So you have to consider;
Is you wife on FM too or DAB? Unlikely as that tends to be shorter range.
Do you have an aerial fault as suggested by SCM
Is your wife’s car simply a better aerial and radio setup
