Where the heck is my car?!

My F-Type S was ordered in June, built on 17 September and had a delivery date of 31 Oct, then revised to 10 November and now the order shows no delivery date at all. My salesperson is contacting Jaguar to find out where it is. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

I ordered mine on 7th October and it is ready for pick up tomorrow.
I think maybe just because it was my dealers stock order and they just substituted my spec.
I hope your dealer unblocks your order ASAP.

How exciting! I'm so jealous. The fact that I am in the US adds another dimension of the trip across the pond and then transport to me in the middle of the country. We are not even seeing the coupes on the road here, yet - at least not where I am. I don't think I am understanding how the order process goes. I know the dealers are allocated so many a month, etc and I'd imagined we are more limited than you are in the UK. I ordered mine especially with several upgrade packs, maybe that is holding up progress? Ugh. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight for the excitement. Post a picture once you pick it up. I'd love to see it.

Yes Lesley perhaps ordering and delivery are different to us here.
I had a tour of the assembly line in April and saw lots of LHD cars getting done for shipment overseas. Having seen the business end of things convinced me that I had to have an F Type.
I added 20 inch wheels, panoramic roof, adjustable seats and heated seats, parking pack, visibility pack and of course, Italian Racing Red.
Pics to follow very soon.
And hopefully I won't have to wait long to see your photos.

Here she is finally!! Well worth the wait!

Hi Lesley
Looks fab - I'm sure you'll have lots if fun driving it over there. Do you have to stick to 55mph in it or are you exempt because it's a Jaguar (or Jagwaar, depending on where you live!)? I understand from a mate who lives over on your side of the Atlantic that the Coupe is really rare, so you'll have to get used to people gazing at you/the car everywhere you go. Including the speed cops!!

Hi Lesley. I hope you are enjoying your new coupe. I know you got the S but is it Italian Racing Red like mine?
I am about to give it some tlc cleaning as the roads and weather here have been dirty so it needs to get its sparkle back.

Mine is actually the Salsa Red. I just cleaned mine yesterday - we have snow coming on Saturday here in St. Louis, so she'll be tucked into the garage until that and the road salt that comes with it passes - which could be all winter. :-(

Hi DRAT -
I live in the St. Louis area and most of our Interstates are now 70 mph or at least 65 mph. Neither of which do I stick to. We picked the car up 300 miles from here and weren't below 85 mph the entire way home and sometimes well over that, but briefly. We have a track close by so in the Spring I may take it and really see what she can do! And yes, we do say Jagwaar unless we are trying to imitate a posh British accent, which I do regularly.

I just picked it up last Friday and it has only been in the garage long enough for me to sleep, then I'm back out driving. I have yet to see another Coupe on the road, so it is quite a novelty. People on the street stop dead in their tracks to look at it - the sound gets everyone's attention. I love it!

The weather is rain sunshine rain sunshine. The car is parked out front whilst I have a new driveway laid. Then s new garage roller door fitted do it is out for a couple of weeks before being tucked away at night.
A little nervous as my neighbour two doors away had his Carrey's taken from indoors and they drove off in his bmw.
To make things worse our street lights go out at midnight every night. It has got a tracker fitted but really would be happier with it garaged

I would be a nervous wreck, GAT! Hopefully the next few weeks pass quickly for you. I don't think I'd be able to sleep at night.

We have two garages attached to the house and we built an external 6 car garage away from the house this summer. We live on 5 acres so it requires a lot of equipment. We moved all of the lawn equipment, ATV, etc into the external garage so that I could park the new baby in the house garage. I opted to keep my beloved Mercedes C230 Kompressor when we bought the Jaguar so I have them parked together. It's very rural where we live so I wouldn't be worried if I had to park it outside. My worry is driving it to the city. St. Louis is not one of the safest. That's where my old Mercedes will come in handy.

Our weather has turned very cold, very quickly and it even snowed a little last night - not enough to accumulate, but definitely a sign my driving season is pretty much at an end. Once they start putting salt on the roads, she stays in the garage.

Hi Lesley,
She looks beautiful. Shame you got her so late in the year and now she has to be locked away I have had mine just over a year now and she also is now to be locked away, winter has finally arrived

Same Colour though ! and as has already been discussed on this forum, red ones are the quickest !!

Thanks Lesley.
I wish I had the space you have! I would have to move back to Scotland for that!
The car is sitting outside in the rain showers but in two weeks I can give it shelter.
So in the meantime I have had a new driveway laid. I do hope it appreciates all the car focused additions I am making with a good few years trouble free driving.
