What is it with the French...

... they just love my car.

Just got back from Belgium yesterday and it's the second time I've been with the F-type. Each time driving through France to get to Belgium the French go nuts over my car.

This time, the first thumbs up was within a mile of getting off the ferry. There were several more like that with cars pulling up alongside on the dual carriageways and smiling and thumbs up as they passed. (I don't do fast in France after 4 speeding tickets in 3 days once.)
This time, which hasn't happened before, someone stopped at a give way junction with me behind him. He jumped out and started taking pictures of the car, came over to the window to chat, etc. The cars behind were very understanding.

Belgium, on the other hand, they couldn't care less.

You've only got to look at modern Citroens and Renaults to understand the French love of Jaaaags.

I'm suprised by this, have always heard the french are not at all interested in cars.
What colour is your car? french racing blue by any chance?

I'd say a vast majority of the French don't care about cars, partially because they just view them as tools and partially because they can't afford buying or running something like a Jag. But then there are also quite a few die hard petrol heads over there who usually show their appreciation when they come across something as exotic as the F-Type. France is the place I've heard most superlatives about my car, with "sublime" being the most common expression. :D

Strangely enough though, the place in the world that I've seen the biggest concentration of all kinds of Jags (apart from the Jaguar Breakfast Club meet) is Deauville in France.
