Washing off salt

I had to take the car out yesterday, the roads were very wet and I know that salt has been applied once already this year. Im trying not to use it too much over winter but very occasionally have no option.

I don’t normally worry too much, but I’m keeping this one. As I’ve heard that some of the steel is actually pure Indinium and rusts very quickly I gave the underside a quick rinse using my lawn sprinkler which seems to work okay.

I’ll be protecting the underside when I get the chance, but until then, does anyone have any advice for cleaning under the car? There must be a better way than a sprinkler!

Thanks.

That's a pretty cool gadget, adding that to the Christmas list!

I assume we should avoid using that near the front of the car i.e. under the engine because it might end up flooding the air intake?

I've also noticed the rear arches are a dirt trap - the inner arch lip isn't covered properly by the arch liners, which are a poor fit (on my car anyway).

I've started giving it close attention during washes and always scoop a load of mud off the bare metal lip.
