Wanted: Heated Flat Bottom Sports Steering Wheel

Spoke to Jaguar Vertu Leeds today and they were pretty useless. Said a replacement Sports wheel is not available for my 2019 F Type. I don’t believe this is true as I can’t see why the earlier flat bottom wheels do not fit. May go down the eBay route for a test and learn approach!

They will be referring to part numbers which do change in 2019 and why it shows as incompatible. I had the same issues. However all wheels are interchangeable across the years ranges.

In actual fact the only difference is the button pack which changed along with the update in the software system from SDD to CCG (I think, please correct me if I'm wrong.)
However, the plugs are all the same and it's as simple as unplugging one set of buttons and plugging in the other.

You could just ask them to sell you whatever wheel they do have access to. It will fit, but you'll probably still need the buttons and the heater module.

Thanks Jon - assume I can just switch out my buttons and heater module from my existing steering wheel?

Also wondering if anyone knows - can I fit a left hand drive steering wheel to a right hand drive car - I assume so?

Yes if you've already got the buttons and heater module it's even easier, as you say it's just a case of swapping the buttons over. You can use your trim or the trim that comes with the wheel, they all fit.
My wheel is from the USA so yes LHD, RHD makes no difference.

Brilliant thank you - poised to make a purchase from the US….

Finally got hold of a heated flat bottom sports steering wheel - one pooped up on eBay on Tuesday night for £280 which is an absolute steal. Arrived Thursday and fitted last night - what a difference it makes to the feel of driving the car, and it looks fantastic too. May get it retrimmed next winter, but happy with the condition for the price.

You're right, that was a bargain! Looks great and yes I have to agree it makes a massive difference to how the car feels over the old thin rimmed wheel.
And it gets bloody toasty!
Jon

Quick progress update - my flat bottom wheel is now removed again, and currently with Royals for a fresh retrim, and I am worried that the steering wheel bolt is looking a bit worn on the edges. Does anyone know the part number for a fresh steering wheel bolt? Tried using google but getting all sorts of stuff back - mainly wheel bolts.

Thanks all
Andrew
