OK, done a fair bit of research , Youtube and here and thinking of buying an F Type. car 2022 F-Type P300 2 ltr with pano roof. It was registered Jan 2020 and has had 3 main dealer services, one was check at purhase and two at main dealer so apparently warranty run out at end of this year. Should I go with Jag warranty or their usunal warrantl Theres is £500/PA ??? Its at a Renault Dealer (Orpington) who refurbishing wheels and replacing Pano as it was cracked.

Advert says 18ins wheels but pic is 20ins wheels. Not sure what the standard size is but suspect 20ins a tad large.

BTW any other thoughts or input welcomed

Here is car

It was PDI'd in Brentwood on 30/12/2021 and delivered to the first customer on 12/01/2022 which is the warranty starting date.

It hasn't strayed far during it's life and remained around the same area in Kent looking at the service history. A cracked pano roof is pretty unusual, I wonder what happened there?

Personally, I'd go with the Jaguar Approved Warranty when the 3 years are up. It's usually much more comprehensive and will probably only be another £400 ish and you can pay for it monthly too.

If you do decide on this car ask Jaguar Customer Services to update their records, with you as the owner and you'll get all of the Jaguar warranty and connectivity renewals automatically.

Thanks Mick, dont suppose you know what wheels this should have or werer fitted at purchase, if not, is there a way to find out ?

It probably came from new with those 20" gyrodyne wheels. The '7 Split' 19s might have been the base spec, I'm not sure, but there seems to be a lot of P300s with the 20s.

Nice wheels those, just the right size in my view. The ride will be firm but not uncomfortable at all. Good thing is, if you damage one, those wheels have been around since 2014 so there's always some on eBay.

That’s a decent spec car you’re looking at. It has the Windsor leather seats with two tone interior, Meridian surround system, pan roof, heated front screen and the 20” Gyrodine wheels. These are all additions to standard spec and therefore I would suggest the wheels were part of the original order. It doesn’t have a heated steering wheel, so possibly single zone climate control? I.e. both controls act as one. Again if it did this would be another addition to standard.

I believe this (attached) would be the standard fit P300 wheel. The ride comfort on the F type is excellent even with 20” far better than Porsche/BMW all day long.

Lovely colour and package overall. But have you actually driven any of the other engine configurations (V6,V8) before settling for a 2 litre?

Havent driven any but thought the 2ltr was lighter handling given front end weight and I dont really need super fast car (had a few V12 Ferraris) so its fast enough...also probably quieter for touring with 'er indoors...

OK update, going for this, got a discount and I prefer colour, and smaller wheels. Still under Jag warranty till next May.

Wow, that was fast! Glad you found the one for you. Welcome to the club.

Dealer most certainly should be able to help with that query, I'd worry they're hiding the lack of full service history. Car should have been serviced May 23 and May 24.

Once you have the VIN check for yourself here - https://osh.jaguar.com/?_gl=1*rpugqc*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE3MjY2NjI0MTcuQ2owS0NRanc5S20zQmhEakFSSXNBR1ViNG54a2R4VnVxZGgybWZDdWlyc3JiYnpNRVozNkdHR0w2R2stSnY0OThHWkhPV0RQd3RGUmVDVWFBbVB3RUFMd193Y0I.*_gcl_dc*R0NMLjE3MjY2NjI0MTcuQ2owS0NRanc5S20zQmhEakFSSXNBR1ViNG54a2R4VnVxZGgybWZDdWlyc3JiYnpNRVozNkdHR0w2R2stSnY0OThHWkhPV0RQd3RGUmVDVWFBbVB3RUFMd193Y0I.*_gcl_au*NDYyMDgzODQ4LjE3MzAzNzQ0MjA.*FPAU*NDYyMDgzODQ4LjE3MzAzNzQ0MjA.

OSH is as follows. All scheduled items required look to have been carried out (which isn't much at 24 months). The only thing is perhaps is the almost 3 month delay for the 24 month service, as I would wonder whether this could invalidate claims under the remaining manufactures warranty. Written confirmation might deal with that. Worth asking Jaguar Customer Services for an opinion considering the circumstances and that would be independent of the selling dealer.

Re the second service delay I had a similar situation with my car. Purchased at 32 months with the first service delayed by four months and the second by a further month, so just pulled back the third service into line to coincide with its third anniversary. Fortunately so as when they attempted to remove the rear subframe to change oil the captive nuts had broken away, resulting in a week at the bodyshop to rectify. All done under manufacturers warranty and no problems since with Jag extended warranty. So if you do buy it? My advice, get the third service done at 36 months ( before original warranty expires) irrespective of the miles and the fact that it’s less than 12 months since the second.

Next on your list should be a visit to Celtic tuning for engine and gearbox remap.
Power to weight a whisker off the V6s but the agile handling of the 2l.

What’s it like to drive with the remap?

Does it struggle to get the power down?

It gives the car a fair bit more poke and torque. The gearbox remap which takes advantage of the fact these cars are fitted with the 8HP70, which can handle 700nm on torque, means the torque limits in the lower gears can be raised, and it shifts faster. I'd recommend that to any owner.
Despite all that, it's still nowhere near the power of a V8, so it gets the power down just fine.
Regards

Rob
