SVR Annual service and first MoT this Friday

After owning my MY18 SVR for coming up to a year now and covering a disappointing 400 miles I have the annual service and first MoT booked for this Friday and I have read a lot of threads so apologies for beating the same drum again, regarding service or any work being carried out now including updates to software that impact the volume of the exhaust and the pops and bangs being reduced, what do I need to specify when dropping the car off to ensure this doesn't happen so I can still enjoy this wonderful sound?

Thanks in advance and I also have my MY20 SVR F-Pace being serviced too at the same time hopefully I might be able to get a photo of the two cars next to each other for the first time too!

400 miles....whilst I’m sure you are disappointed, how much has the dear thing depreciated in that time? Paying for a service after 400 miles would break my heart!

Dealers do not have to make software updates if you request they do not
Mine has been in since 2014 to many dealers by myself and prior owners and nothing done without agreement
You can always do what others have done and fir an OBD port lock. Believe you can get them cheaply on fleabay

Does that apply to warranty work, too?
Well I had warranty work done on FType and no software updates, but of course it depends what the warranty work is. They may say it needs later software to fix a problem. On that I’d check what it needs and be clear what they can do.

On my Evoque I had gearbox issues and it needed software, so I approved just the gearbox item.

End of the day it’s your car, not theirs

I had warranty work to replace the rear cargo cover and they updated the software! It only disabled the 6 hour dynamic mode memory so I wasn't too fussed.
