Supercharger side pads

Hi everyone, I'm just going through the process of replacing the "Y" pipe. While stripping off the supercharger, I found what I describe as black pads on either side of the supercharger. What do these do and if really necessary, where can I get replacements from?

TIA

Are you referring to the coil covers for your V6S? If so they are shown here (item number 1)...
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/parts/index/part/id/152.1080.2468.11543/brand/jaguar/

The part numbers are:

AJ813956 (Left hand B-bank from VIN K05406 to K46539).

AJ813955 (Right hand A-bank from VIN K22185 to K46539).

JLR main dealer price is £112.14 inc VAT each.

If not, further research is required. In this case are the black pads you refer to there to stop vibration or take up any play etc I wonder? A clear photo of them would be beneficial.

RPSN I think he means the foam pads covered in black plastic that are stuck to either side of the supercharger that I think are for vibration hope this helps cheers Tony.

Thanks Tony.

I think they are for sound insulation? If so, the part numbers may be shown here...

I used a SNG Barratt, very helpful and cheaper than most

Yes, SNG Barratt are good. However, the parts in question are the same price (within a few pence) as a JLR main dealer plus delivery charges.
