Smell of exhaust with windows open - coupe

Evening all,

Wondered if anyone else has had obvious exhaust smell when driving along with the windows open. Especially obvious when you give it a good boot.
Absent with the windows up.

Have lifted bonnet at idle and can’t smell anything

Have had a good look at all the exhaust joint and llamda sensors and they all look good. No signs of soot. No damage either.
Tricky to see the exhaust manifold as under some covers. Might try bubbly water route to find or take to normal exhaust garage to get up on ramps.

Had the car 18 months and sure was ok last year.

Any thoughts? Common failure points

I’m pretty sure there is no egr valve on f-types so that’s not a cause

My logic is that if I can smell it at 60mph surely it must be coming up from the front eg from under bonnet.
Would need some really odd turbulence to pull gases from rear

No other traffic, clear roads…boot shut checked the boot seals…can’t believe getting through spoiler ( but might have been deployed ;-) )

Happens all the time with windows open :-(
Filler cap shut

Guess assuming no cracks/holes in exhaust can only be the following joints:

Cylinder head to exhaust manifold
Exhaust manifold to cat pipe joint, x2 I.e either bank
Cat pipe to center section joint, x2
Center to back box joint, x2

Can I just check, What was the thoughts with the filler jagundy?
Smell is def burnt exhaust gases not fuel

Where you thinking of way to get in the cabin?

Ooo soz my post sounded a bit harsh reading back, was genuinely thinking you might have come up with new idea 😉

Car is def winding me up at the mo… big list of niggles

Might try and check all clamps are tight but bolts looking a bit rusty.
Splash of penetrating oil first.

Did you get any further with this?

I get this with my 575 under hard acceleration. I took it to a specialist yesterday to get some body work looked at and I mentioned it to him and he said they are not known for having leaky manifolds.
