SIM Not Supported

Hi All,

My car has been running on a three.co.uk SIM on their 1-2-3 pay as you go plan for 5+ years without any issues.
(This is the plug in SIM under arm rest for live traffic, online connectivity in car and software updates).

Since yesterday, the icon displaying network connectivity on the sat nav screen has a cross through it and in settings on Mobile Data it says SIM Not Supported.
I have rebooted the car, reseated the SIM and switched mobile data off and back on again (agreeing to pop up terms and conditions) but it immediately says SIM Not Supported.

The SIM in a mobile works fine for calls, data, web browsing etc.

So the reason for the post.... is anyone else yesterday and today having the same issue with 3 SIM? or issues in general?

Keen to know what's what with this! I want to put a sim in my MY18 now too, several times without the live updates I've come to road closed places with a decent drive around grrr!! :D

Maybe this is not connected. I have a Ubigi sim installed in September and now I am getting a message on the dash, SOS service has limited use.

SOS, assistance and Jaguar Remote App use a built-in connection.

I am presuming this because my SOS and Remote App are still working. Although might be MY specific.

Have any of your licences expired?
I've had issues on the Evoque since it crossed 5 years old. From memory there are about 4/5 JLR and third-party licences needed covering several different aspects.

Good idea, but all OK.
(And journeys are still being recorded and remote app still working).

Try using a replacement sim from your phone perhaps, or take it to the dealer if it's under warranty still.

Looks like they are all OK. There are another 1 or 2 licences, but iirc they relate to the actual maps, so would not impact it
Your search continues..

I occasionally get this - do you frequently drive your car or leave it standing for days on end? I usually get this after a period of inactivity, and it goes away after a nice drive!

There's a thread on the US forum about "SOS not available" (different, I know!) which turned out to be the backup rechargeable battery in the TCU "wearing out" after 6 or 7 years, so something to worry about for the future. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f-type-x152-72/sos-system-limited-functionality-191247/

I experienced similar message/notification about six weeks ago, using GiffGaff SIM.
The message disappeared the following day ISTR.

All subscriptions paid, up to date, etc.. I also seem to recall I had to log back in to the Jaguar InControl system before access was restored.
Possibly another glitch on the scratchy Jaguar Pro service?

My car is only 1 year old, so the backup battery is probably not the problem. I have just reset thre app so I will see what happens next time I use the car. I don't generally leave it standing for more than a day.

I have had the same problem over the weekend after the battery went dead after being parked for 3 weeks.Recharged the battery and checked it was holding a charge but the three sim card is now showing no connection on the screen.Plus the incontrol app did not register the journey I made, although it recognises where the car is located.I will try and give it a longer drive next weekend to see if the gremlins will fix themselves!
