4 year service is due in August so been phoning around. Jaguar online booking shows £608.82 which matches telephone quotes from Jaguar main delears in Manchester and Chester. Jaguar Stockport at first said £750.72 but then dropped to £608.82 when I pointed out the online price. Horner and Hudsons an independant in Macclesfield who I have never used but seem to get good reviews quoted £528. But for the difference think I would rather stick with main dealer. I did ask about service plans but have left it too late for this service due in August.

Just wondering if anybody had any recent quotes for same service.

The Jaguar list price for a 4th service is £548.12 plus whatever the retailer charges for the rear diff oil change which is due at 4yrs.

Alternatively Inchcape continue to do a service to schedule which is what I always use at Inchcape Derby which is £385.
I used this for my 4th service which included rear diff oil and also 5th service last year which the price included spark plugs. I have booked the same for next month as my 6th service. At some point I am sure they will cotton on and remove this!!!

Thanks SimpleR, I had seen you mention this before but wasnt sure if it was still available and I couldnt find it when I googled it. I will give it try and see if I can book it for next month. Inchcape Chester is probably nearest for me - well Preston is nearer but the Dealer in Chester is near the centre so I could have a look around the city whilst its being done. Much appreciated :)

I booked with inchcape yesterday for my August service but Just had a call from Jaguar Chester saying that they cant do the £385 price and it will be £608 because its not a major service! I failed to understand the logic behind this, when pressed all she could basically say is because your car is not old enough

Anyway I have cancelled for now. Maybe I should try Derby!

She seemed to be saying because it is an MY20 car - but is was first registerd 10/07/2019 and all the website says is that it has to be 3+ tears old, which it obviously is. Yes will try Derby :)

Jaguar's MYs start early in the previous calendar year - my MY18 was built in March 2017.

Well had my 4 year service at Jaguar Derby yesterday, booked online for £385 service to schedule, phoned the day before to check all booked in etc. Turned up and I reminded them that the Diff oil change is part of the schedule. Half an hour later they phoned me to say that the cost with the Diff oil would be £750 and if I hadnt mentioned it they wouldnt have done the diff!
I pointed out that it is part of the scheduled service and my paperwork says service to schedule. Tried to tell me that the Diff oil costs £200 without labour (what is it liquid gold) - actual cost is £62+vat on my final bill. After much arguing they dropped to £591 but not happy with them because their online booking is obviously misleading. Had follow up call today asking how my service went and how many points out of ten I would give them. You can imagine how that went. What can we do to improve? - give me my £206 back!

Said they will raise it with senior management but Im not holding my breath!

Just a word of warning i went to Inchape last year for the 385 price, they were supposed to do the spark plugs and they didn't.....

I had my 4th service (including rear diff oil) and 5th service (including spark plugs) at Derby for £385 no questions asked. They had a picture of rear diff oil and a plug as an example as I asked to see them.

On the 6th service (last month) they wanted another £142 at point of check in but a brief discussion and all was well for £385.

Maybe they have realised an error in there ways finally.

Inchcape Derby wouldn’t do my service with a spark plug change for £385, it was £570

Same 'poor' experience here, Jaguar Derby completely ignored the service to schedule element and performed a random service of their choosing with no items from the scheduled service covered and put the blame on their bookings team, asking me to book back in another day and pay the difference to the jaguar quoted rate. Since challenging this they have completely ignored all emails and phone calls and I have not heard back from them in over 3 weeks even after chasing most days and flagging to the Inchcape UK team. Extremely poor customer service and I would avoid in future.

Thing is they reacted as if they were not aware that their website says service to schedule, claiming their paperwork doesnt say that and then admitting its wrong on the website. But if Im not the first they obviously know about it and it starts to border on trades description - getting people to come in under false pretenses and then charging more!

I will give them a week or two to respond to my verbal feedback - but if I dont hear anything will then be leaving wriiten feedback to warn others

As per my previous post.

It would seem they have realised the error in their ways and the £385 has or will come to an end. Shame. But at least I had three services out of it.

That’s a shame, I was going to get you to book my next service with them 😁

A shame it's confirmed as ended by the above evidence and experience
If you try to book online it still shows as £385, but the wording is vague about what they do and despite the £385 the total shows as POA.
I need the 10 year service which includes all sorts like:
Gearbox oil (which I can do myself),
Rear diff oil & coolant (both already done),
Spark plugs, (to do),
plus the usual oil and filters
I cannot risk booking only to be told the bill is massively higher.

that's why you should use an indie, much better service and thay look after your car with interest.

Can't (and won't!) argue with that. Mine does what's necessary when it's necessary, which doesn't necessarily follow the Jaguar schedule to the letter - e.g he checks the brake fluid and replaces that when it needs replacing, not every two years. On a previous Jag he refused to change the spark plugs when I asked him to because they were still working perfectly, saving me quite a bit - it's sometimes hard to get him to take my money!

Yes, indeed. Now booled with my usual indy at £645. Will do all the required work, collect and return (which I trust). No issue on the bits I don't need doing and will update the service record to reflect the already done changed and not required now. Gearbox oil thrown in whilst doing the rest :)

Out of curiosity I checked with Inchcape and comes in at £1,305 to do all. Perhaps could reduce it a few hundred but doubt it would fall below £1k..

And you're not sure they won't put a work experience lad on it! :)
