Run in at last

Just passed 2000 miles. It's taken me 6 months but now I can really enjoy my car! Drove today in sport using the paddles for the first time. Wonderful sound on up and downshifts. This car is brilliant. <br /><br />Had my oil changed yesterday after running in to get rid of all the debris. Whilst I sat in the dealership I contemplated whether I would buy an ex demo F Type and how dealers handle running in? Dealers don't keep their demo's long so I can't believe they run them in according to the manual for 2000 miles. I can't see a sales person saying to a Customer "please don't exceed 4500 rpm in this sports car as we are running in!". Don't think they'd sell too many. If you are considering an F Type you will rag it on a test drive. I did.<br /><br />A conundrum for dealers....and ex demo buyers.<br /><br />

Our dealer said there was no "running in" required. I'm gonna have to dig out the manual and have a read, I've only done 120 miles and I haven't used it in dynamic mode yet, and only used the paddles once. 6 months.... Gosh that's a long time to not put the peddle to the metal.... <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I've had mine a week and put 550 miles on using all combinations of D, S, Dynamic and flappy paddles. It's amazing how much fun you can have driving within 4500 rpm!<div>Life's too short - go for it!</div>

I intended to go through a 'running in' phase, this intention lasted until the second roundabout as I drove home from the garage after picking it up. <div><br></div><div>I'm in my second week, and am finding it easier to resist dynamic mode, keeping it in safe mode for now, but hearing the cat roar is way too tempting. </div><div><br></div><div>I do admire someone with a steel will. </div><div><br></div><div>Enjoy!</div><div>(I am also known to consume a packet of Jammie Dodgers at a single sitting)</div><div> </div>

6 months?! I put 2k on mine within 6 weeks I think :) We are out in it almost every night - I am spending a small fortune on pub dinners and seaside treats....<div> </div><div>I do have an ex-demo, it seems to be okay and tbh I'm not the stereotypical 'one careful lady owner' anyway so wasn't looking for a pristine example. If we manage to organise a meet-up I can see if it sounds rough compared to the rest of you :P</div><div> </div><div>Jess</div>

I have done 11k in 12 months. I didn't realise there was a running in period. oops ;) <div><br></div><div>I only drive it in dynamic mode its so much fun. :) </div>
