As much as I like the f type I just cannot gel with it so after 2 months of ownership it's a return to porsche , the car is on sor at Lloyds Carlisle

Interesting.
Anything in particular you disliked about it?

Whilst I haven't driven mine for a few weeks and have only had it a few months, I'm not finding myself totally in awe of it as I thought I would.
Not sure if this is because of the weight or ease of use or....I don't know.

I've come directly from Lotus (and Porsche before that), so there could be something in it...

I had a 911 turbo X50 back in 2008 and didn't gel with that - 12 months later it had to go, but the Boxster Spyder I bought stayed for nearly 3 years!

Morning,

Interesting and sorry to hear it did not work out, what do you miss and which Porsche?

Cheers

Difficult to explain well actually it's not if like me you like feel , yes the jag is a good car but so is a mx5 , it makes a great sound but after a while that fails to capture , I came from a c4 to a exige v6 boxster S then the jag ok the boxster was good but didn't excite , the jag isn't my daily drive so when I do drive it , it dosent do a lot just like jumping into another daily I've bought a 01 996 for the anolouge feel

I can get that, the same weekend we bought the ftype we also bought my wife an 05 plate boxster and it is a fantastic thing. Feels much more connected than the jag, I think a lot of it has to do with the weight of the controls.

I'd still rather have the jag but I do completely understand your point.

The jag is certainly not a bad car far from it ! And that may well ( for me or I should say how it is used ) if it was my daily then I think I would still want something different for weekends ( and yes I've had a lot of motorbikes ) I feel in my case it's more a car for daily use so that's why it has to go

One thing I like about the Jag is you can drive it as a daily drive but if you fancy some fun just open the tap, maybe track time could release the fun for you?

Interestingly I have done the opposite. I owned a 987 Spyder for 3 years before swapping it this summer for F Type SVR. The Porsche was great and I really enjoyed driving it but am so pleased I moved it on for the Jag. Having said that, the Porsche is one of the few cars I have owned where I made money from selling it (the Spyder is quite rare). Don't think the same will be the case on the SVR!! Still cars are for driving and the driving experience of the SVR is exceptional. Great balance between practicality and brute performance when the fancy takes you.
