Recall Notice H422: Fuel Vapor Purge

I just received an email from my JLR dealer of a recall notice on my 2018 R-Dynamic. I need to take it in to have a recall done for H422: Fuel Vapor Purge. There will be no cost to me to perform the recall. The only information I have been able to find on it is that it is a software update.

Does anyone know anything about this update? What issue will it address?
 
I think the purge valve holds accumulated fuel vapour (e.g. petrol tank) which gets fed in under certain engine conditions where it can be burned, rather than being released into the atmosphere.

I would guess that the software updates will probably be to the power train module and gearbox module to recalibrate the conditions for/amount of purge.
 
I believe that update is for P300 (2L vehicles) however hope OP posts back to confirm which car they have.
 
I have the 3 liter V6. So far very few in the US have indicated they have been contacted by the dealer on this. All are 2018 models. Thus far only R Dynamic and 400 Sport models have been notified.
 
Thus far everyone who has been contacted (at least those reporting it on the US forum) are in the US. Maybe it does not impact UK models?
 
I am scheduled to have this recall done tomorrow. Curiously when I checked the Jaguar USA site to see if there were any other recalls on my car no recalls were listed. Not even the H422. I also checked Topix. Nothing is listed there either.

A few people on the US forum have had the recall performed. Nobody has reported any changes after having it done.
 
I had the update performed today. I did not notice any changes.

I took the technician four tries to get the update to complete successfully. After it failed three times he switched to a new diagnostic machine and it completed successfully.
 
Dealer performed this on my 2017 F Type S today and I already regret it. I feel like the idle is rougher now, I can feel vibrations in driver's seat, this wasn't the case before. RPMs are stable, not jumping and no error codes but I dont like this new idle!!!! I'm pissed!
