Hey everyone,
I’m having a strange issue on my 2017 Jaguar F-Type R AWD (5.0 V8 Supercharged) that seems to affect both the rear spoiler and the blind spot monitoring system, mostly when driving in rainy on a long motorway road and higher speed.
Symptoms:
On the motorway, the spoiler sometimes retracts by itself, and a message appears like “Rear spoiler fault”
At the same time or shortly before, the blind spot assist stops working and shows a warning in the cluster and the yellow sign in the side mirror.
After the car restarts (off/on) or dries/sits overnight, both systems work perfectly again.
It feels like moisture or water ingress might be causing sensor or connector issues. But i had 2 times the effect also on the motorway on a dry day.
Questions:
Has anyone had the same problem with the spoiler retracting and blind spot assist failing in wet weather?
Is there a known issue?
Any fix suggestions — e.g., sealing the connectors, replacing radar units, or adjusting spoiler alignment?
The car dealer said "you can not see that in the error protocol and you need to disassemble the whole trunk/spoiler unit". I don't belive that.
Would really appreciate any advice or photos if someone already dealt with this!
