Hello all, after a little wisdom and confirmation if I may<div><br></div><div>I've had my 64 plate F-Ftype S for a couple of weeks now and wondered if anybody could clarify a few things</div><div><br></div><div>1. I've got the Meridian the mid one not the top one - I don't get any of the DTS, Meridian sound etc options I have seen on various Youtube clips, am I right in assuming that functionality is only on the top Meridian option?</div><div><br></div><div>2. Likewise the customisation Dynamic settings for the suspension, steering, gear change etc, I don't have that functionality (even when car is in Dynamic Mode) was that functionality not around with a 64 plate?</div><div><br></div><div>3. I have the 'old style' infotainment the same as my old XF, I presume the InControl stuff only came in when the infotainment was upgraded to the version that first appeared on the XE</div><div><br></div><div>4. I know its cold at the minute but the clicking and creaking from the dash is driving me potty, is it just part of the joy of owning an F-type?</div>

Thats correct - the output is beefier but no dolby. I've got the same and its the best value option imo.</div><div><br></div><div>2. It was an option on 64 plate S cars - over 2k - i've got it and its not worth it imo :)</div><div><br></div><div>3. Correct. I prefer the older one as it really stable, but the new one has improved somewhat recently i understand with upgrades.</div><div><br></div><div>4. If your still in warranty i'd moan about that - mine doesnt. (13 plate)<br>

Hi and welcome - I have a MY2016 so can't really answer your questions...but what I would say is that I don't find the In Control app particularly useful and 99.9% of the time control my music from the normal interface. I can configure the dynamics, but again once I set it up I've not fiddled around with it so I don't think you are missing much without it!

I've got an MY2017 car and agree you're not missing much with InControl apps. The very fact that you have to plug in via USB is not exactly forward thinking technology and I could never get it to work properly. Spotify over Bluetooth can be controlled with the standard touch screen and steering wheel controls and works fine for me. Yes, I have to go back into the phone to change a playlist but I usually just pick a long playlist and can then skip, etc using the steering wheel. <br /><br />Also never really got all the fuss with configurable dynamics. Unless you're a skilled racing driver, I think the Jaguar engineers and test drivers know how to set up a car's handling a lot better than average Joe Public so it's better left in the hands of the experts to configure dynamic mode!

I waited specifically for MY16 to come out as I wanted the InControl apps...but I didn't need to bother as it's basically pants and I don't use it all. Only thing I do use about it is the Remote app, for occasional remote starts but it's so flaky/takes a while to connect that you are really really not missing anything.<div><br></div><div>I also specced the top Meridian system which sounds very poor considering the cost, so you're not missing anything here either.</div><div><br></div><div>Only part of the i-Dynamics stuff I use is to switch off the dynamic throttle response, as I find it a bit too hair trigger-like for my tastes, but I'm being a bit picky there.</div><div><br></div><div>All in all, you're not missing anything at all in my opinion, the main part of the car (chassis/engine/exhaust) is all in order so you're good there!</div><div><br></div><div>As Daytona says, I'd have a word with dealer about the creaks before warranty expires, but just bear in mind quality of dealerships can vary greatly so if you get any pushback, try a different dealer. Don't know where you're based but I can tell you one to avoid plus one to try in SW London/Surrey if you're in that area.</div>
