<div></div>Calling all new or about to receive Coupe owners.<div> </div><div>My F Type S Coupe should have been here on Monday, but on Friday my dealer sheepishly rang me up to tell me that the factory were giving each new Coupe models a thorough quality control inspection, and it was because of the time it takes for each car, that they were now slightly behind on releasing cars?<img src="http://www.ftypeownersclub.co.uk/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif" border="0" alt="Shocked" title="Shocked" /></div><div> </div><div>Has anyone else heard or experienced this?</div><div> </div><div>It does make you think that they found something ( not quite right in manufacturing) and were getting it fixed??? Hope not!</div><div> </div><div>If not and they took 5 days longer to inspect mine my Coupe should be top notch!</div>

Heard similar from my dealer, mine was due 1st May and I still don't have it.The date has changed about 5 times. Its due in on Friday but I'm not holding my breath. At the end of the day I'd rather it comes fault free, so I guess we shouldn't complain, but its still a pain in the butt.

Hi <br />Mine was due on the 20th May. I received a call form the dealer last Thursday saying that the car was off the production line and had to go through quality control. This could take take up to 90 days! A bit disappointed. I received a call back on Monday that it had all gone through and was waiting for a transporter. The dealer said he thinks it could be with them by this Friday!! Then it may take over a week for all the paper work. Their own quality control??<br />I'll let you know the outcome.

Arrgh! Well my date changes have been well documented, along with my frustration with the date given in the first place. However, my production date moved forward again last week and is due to begin tomorrow. However, now seeing this post it has really rung a bell that when the dealer called me he said it 'could' still get here ahead of schedule, the main issue after production would be 'quality control'. I thought nothing of it at the time, thinking that'd be a pretty quick process and wondered why he specifically mentioned that phase of the build process. Well I guess there is some common issue they are having to rectify on certain cars.<div><br></div><div>The lack of transparency and organisation there seems to be with JLR is making me miss Porsche already.</div>

Hi Wellzee,<div>I don't think they have been too bad for me. I think once the car is built it should all go through pretty quick.</div><div>I think the wait will be well worth it.</div><div>What have you ordered? I think the V6s is taking more time because there is more demand. I have ordered the R! (Crapping it!) so I don't know if that has any thing to do with it?</div><div>Good luck</div>

I've just got the base V6 (was going to get the S but didn't have the budget to spec it exactly as I wanted). The wait will definitely be worth it, especially for the R! My frustration is not necessarily the wait (although mine was v. long in the first place) but the disorganisation and constant date changing. Lofty and I seem to have been messed around more than others. I am just so damn excited to get this car that when they bring it forward I get so chuffed and start making plans only to find out a week later it has been pushed back again - thats happened several times now.<div><br></div><div>When I say I miss Porsche, I mean their dealers, order process etc. all of which have been excellent with my last 2 Porsche's. I guess I just got used to their German efficiency. I'm sure once I get in the F I'll forget all about them... </div>

I feel your pain! he he. My wife also wants me to get it so I stop talking about the thing! The base v6 is just a brilliant car as well. I have reservations about the R and the extra money involved! I drove the V6 and loved it. This is the first time I have spent this sort of money (and probably the last!) on a car so I thought I would go for it! She wasn't happy!!<div>I should know more this Friday.</div>

<div>Thanks for the feedback folks - it seems the standard procedure then for a new model.</div><div> </div>Friday seems to be the day for us all!! Perhaps they have released a whole batch.<div></div><div>I too believe its better to wait and have it right.</div><div>My dealer experience has been fantastic and they have really looked after me, and I know the call about the delay was a difficult one - they were genuinely as disappointed as I was. </div><div> </div><div>I do think if a dealer gives too much information too soon they are leaving themselves open to potentially disappointing the customer. We don't know or understand the full order, production, sign off process, the dealer may know more but he is at the hands of the manufacturer. As with new models it is likely to take time to get the whole process seamless. All I know is JLR want to get the Coupe right, its important to them and its good for British manufacturing that they do.</div><div> </div><div>So there will be an influx of reports on Friday then!</div>

Kaybee & Modernist out of interest, if you both are in your new coupes by the end of the week (fingers crossed) how long is that for each for you since it went into production? i.e. build date to delivery.

Wellzee. I think the build date was mid april? I will let you know when it is delivered to the dealer. I think I may have been lucky?

Mine arrived at the dealers on Wednesday, slightly earlier than my last predicted date of next Monday and two weeks later than originally planned. It went on the production line on 30th April so about to two weeks from start of build to delivery, pretty good. The dealer has resolved the finance issue I was having so I pick it up on Monday, can't wait. <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Good morning guys and girls. <br />An update to my last post! My f type r is in! Spoke to the sales guy this morning. He confirm that the car has arrived under wraps! Unfortunately my guy is out on a course next week and can't get me it until next Friday. I have taken this opportunity to have a tracker fitted whilst in with grange motors. This was recommended by grange and very reasonable. I know it hasn't taken as long as some other peoples but I thought I have waited long enough another 3 days won't hurt and I could have the tracker fitted. <br /><br />Excited!!!!!

Congratulations Modernist and Lofty. My Coupe R planned delivery date is still 20th May and hoping it doesn't change due to the quality control activities. I drove the V6S coupe, V8S and R at Milbrook and they are all absolutely fantastic cars. My wife is getting close to bumping me off so I need this car soon :-).

Try resizing them so they are a smaller file size to upload. Otherwise, I found I had to use a pc not my iPhone.

Here's mine <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <br /><img src="http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj140/lofty123/c9fb80d9fc8b1222af303395868d6bcf_zpsd6ebe0fe.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img src="http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj140/lofty123/86d5858704f7c08ae65eacbe0c11bcae_zps56f39024.jpg" border="0" />

Lofty, congratulations! Have you got it home now? It's truly beautiful. How is she to drive? Mine went into production on Friday so I reckon 2-3 weeks to go hopefully.

Thanks wellzee, I must admit I'm rather pleased with my choice of red with carbon, I was over the moon when I seen it unveiled as I haven't seen red with black pack and pano roof.It drives beautifully, the convertible is great but this is up another notch, I hadn't drove a coupe until today as I didn't want to dilute my experience today. Its well worth the wait, yours will be here before you know it .

I've done the same, I test drove a Salsa roadster but rejected the chance to drive the Coupe. Can't wait. I've got the black pack but not the carbon wing mirror covers, and looking at yours, I'm going to order them in - so thanks for posting! I love that a lot of the cosmetic bits can be retrofitted at anytime. It truly is a beauty mate.
