Hi everyone!<div><br></div><div>Just purchased a V8 F-type Coupe today! I get to collect at 2pm tomorrow and haven't felt this excited for years! Had a look at it yesterday at the show room and was blown away! Never been a fan of red leather but this car really changed my mind for some reason, the red and silver really go well! </div><div><br></div><div>Hopefully there won't be too many icy conditions in the oncoming weeks! Thanks guys! Like a couple of you said I will be taking it easy, I am a little bit anxious as have never owned a 550bhp RWD car. I think I will be keeping it in Rain/snow and normal mode for a while!<div><br></div><div>The dealership dropped in yesterday that I had test driven a AWD and not a RWD which put a bit of panic in me as they said to watch the backend as it can be "twitchy" lol... this was dropped in after the paperwork was all signed and money paid of course <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
You will need to learn how to modulate the throttle - but that is what makes the rwd R so fun to drive <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" height="17" width="17" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /><div> </div><div>There is no denying that the rear can be a bit "twitchy" and it is easy to spinn up the rear Wheels. But it is also very controlable, as soon as you "get to know it" and learn what to expect.</div><div> </div><div>All in all it is a very easy car to drive, as long as you show it a bit of respect <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" height="17" width="17" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /></div>

Great interior colour in my view, suits the car perfectly.<br><br>My Fiat 500 has red leather. At nearly 7 years old an 90,000 miles it still looks good. And this is in a car that doesn't really get any TLC. So I doubt you'll have any problems.<br>
Picked up the car yesterday and have to say I love it but its VERY twitchy in this weather. I can't put the pedal further than a 1/4 way down without the tail end wheels spinning <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /><div><br></div><div>Got to say though its so much fun and I take it as a good thing that its damp/slippery at the moment so it gives me a chance to really learn the car</div>

Welcome to the FTOC Tom!<div><br></div><div>Lovely colour, and don't let anyone tell you that's too much red in the cockpit <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /> </div><div>Do you have the extended red leather option around the windscreen as well?</div><div><br></div><div>Enjoy your car, and don't let the plethora of numptee journalists or dealers make you believe that a 2WD is twitchy! </div><div><br></div><div>They either can't drive or have any experience elf a proper sports car, hence the need for an AWD system...to make up for the skills gap <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /></div><div><br></div><div>There is no way I would trade a 2WD for an AWD having driven them both extensively. The AWD is just to bulky and nose heavy, converting a semi sports car into a lard arsed GT!</div>
Totally agree with Tel, I'd take the RWD over the AWD any day - and I don't think I've ever owned a car I can use more than about 1/2 the pedal from a standstill regardless of the weather! You'll get used to it 
Watch low speed roundabouts at first if you are used to being heavy footed, that's the biggest menace in my experience, as you aren't expecting to have a problem ;P

Low temperature has quite an impact on grip. Last weekend with the temperature never getting above 4C, I could feel the back end squirming when pushed, even though it was perfectly dry. Whereas in the summer it would be totally planted.<br>

Took mine to town today having not driven it for a few weeks. It felt odd at first, but once we were both warmed up, it was a joy. It turns heads every time. Even though it got filthy with the spray from lorries I didn't care and enjoyed washing it before putting it back in the garage. <div><br></div><div>You will really enjoy your new car. I can't imaging what 500 bhp would be like in the winter. 380 AWD is enough for my average driving skills.</div>
The red leather does extend onto the dash but not on the drivers side which I love as it really breaks up the interior. I have to say I've not really ever liked red interiors but I love the red in the Jag as its not in your face red. I have started to get used to the power - The snow/rain mode has become my friend for the time being <div><br></div><div>The amount of attention the car gets is unreal. I knew it was a beautiful car but didn't realise this much attention would come with it - I can't complain though lol. Have had 3 people in the last 2 days say "what car is that?? I have never seen anything like it" then realise its a Jaguar! </div><div><br></div><div> When taking friends/family out its just laughter all the way - makes me smile every time I drive!</div>
