Puddle lights LED

I fitted the LED puddle lights a few years ago but after a short while they projected a blur instead of the Jaguar logo! I reverted back to the OEM lights soon afterwards.

I also went through a couple of logo puddle lights which got blurry over time as the logos melted from the heat. I think I saw that there are some better ones now that can withstand the heat better.

After the logo puddle lights I fitted a set of clear white strong LED lights instead which have lasted a few years now and do look much better than the original incandescent ones.

I had the same logo puddle lights as the ones posted earlier by Steveglenlee except mine didn’t last for long. After reverting back to the OEM puddle lights I’m contented with them and they do their job.

These were the puddle lights that I bought off Amazon a few years ago but didn't last for long before projecting a blur instead of the logo! Upon checking my docs I can see they were slightly different (circle around the leaper) to the better quality ones posted earlier by Steveglenlee

I was also considering those posted earlier with the leaper but the OCD in me thought they were a no go because they have the old font which Jaguar discontinued around 2013 and only would look right on very early F-Types which still had the black growler badges and old font.

May be hard to see here but a nice upside of having plain very bright LEDs without a logo is that they also add a fair bit of illumination in the cabin when they are on.

That could well be a case of OCD!

Yes, they do look very bright. I see you’ve also changed the footwell bulb on the driver’s side but not sure about the passenger side?

Have you thought about these for the underside of the car? .....

Yes I like having ice blue footwell LEDs to match the car's ice blue mood lighting. It's rather odd really how all interior lights are LED based except the footwell lights which came with stone age unmatching incandescent ones. Same story with all three Jaguars I've had. JLR parts bin carry over of old parts penny pinching at its finest.

Matching under car lighting would be a bit OTT for me. I think it's more to the taste of our friends across the pond. :D

Looks good.

On my car the OEM footwell and door puddle lights aren’t LED but that doesn’t really bother me as they do their job.

Thought the underglow lighting would be a bit OTT for you  .....me too!

IMG_0590.jpegMy puddle lights still looking good after two years.
Can’t remember where I got them, was someone advertising on Jaguars owners FB group.

Looks like you found some good ones. Come to think of it, I think I saw some year ago that some puddle lights were advertised as long lasting and non fading so I suppose some figured out a better design.
