Hi all

anybody any experiences of Paramount /Viezu either good or bad? https://paramount-performance.com/f-type

Their tuning for ftype's is now £330 which seems good value, and I'm think of getting one of their exhausts too

My only other reference point is DAE https://www.davidapplebyengineering.com/Shop who are considerably further away and more expensive

thanks!

Hi I have a P450 and took It to VIEZU for the full Predator upgrade what a difference and the team are outstanding I would highly recommend them for anything Jaguar related

I had my P450 at Viezu and had the Predator upgrade done absolutely awesome the figures are Incredible I've been driving Jags for 20 odd years a X-TYPE 3 Litre estate 2 XJ'S 3 litre 1 a XJ SPORT a beautiful white XF Portfolio 3 litre estate 2 F-TYPE R's and now this P 450 along with my 3 litre F-PACE , the guys at VIEZU have made this P 450 an absolute beast 670 BHP 960 NM a whole new exhaust, upper pulley, lower crank,K'N filters belts,,ecu ,cooling system the list Is endless but the end result Is truly staggering I can honestly say If you have a 5 litre power plant and want a upgrade don't hesitate get the PREDATOR upgrade done I haven't stopped smiling since I got It back It's a bright red with the black pack I had It ceramic coated the other day wheels too which are black and It looks amazing I'm now going to see what the can do with my F-PACE and I must add the fuel consumption was unbelievable I drove it home with a stop off at Warrington to see my brother had a drive around and gave him a go then drove home to 28 miles north off Glasgow with just under a quarter of a tank left so just over 400 miles and sitting a 90 most of the way with the odd experiment with the power etc.

wow you really do like Jaguars! The Predator package looks amazing but too much money for me sadly, i'm after the tune, exhaust and the new air intake they have coming

Did it bump up your insurance much?

The insurance aspect is one of the things holding me back from doing the upgrade myself - I saw the recent Spring deal and got VERY tempted. I know LV in the past took a zero tolerance approach to modifications, and my current insurer is the same, it's not a question of "we'll bump your premium", more "we won't cover you at all". As such, it would be interesting to see which insurer people are using and how mod friendly they are.

EDIT : Looks like LV do allow modifications - https://www.lv.com/car-insurance/do-you-cover-modifications-or-changes-to-standard-specifications . That said, after the appalling way they dealt with a renewal for both myself and my father in the last 3 years, I'm in no particular hurry to insure with them again.

Absolutely, I'm with Admiral and just assume they won't entertain mods, which is fair enough, so I had assumed I'd have to go down the Adrian Flux or similar route

Luckily my insurance is due next month

I have their stainless exhaust with carbon tips as a replacement for a seized valve unit. Quality is great - perfect welds etc. Looks and sounds great. BUT...only niggle is the way the actuators for valves are positioned. They work fine - and it was plug n play pretty much but the Active Button now works in reverse. When I questioned...after it had been installed by a local specialist, they said yeah, that's just how it works. It did ship with a standalone box that you could use to control the valves but wanted to make use of the onboard switch. No biggy for me though.

useful info thanks, I will question that with them as i'm getting them to fit

Has anyone tried their Tune at Home package and could comment on performance and reliability, please?

I think I've had my bubble somewhat burst :(

I knew I would obviously have to pay extra for the mods but I wasn't expecting the jump from £450 to £1,328

Ive used a map created by Viezu using the MyGenius tool. I pulled off the existing map, emailed it to them for revision, they sent me one via email and i loaded it onto the Mygenius box and onto the car.

Things to watch out for, extracting the ECU information from the car takes over an hour (make sure the car battery is fully charged and connected to a battery charger at the time of extraction). Car ignition needs to be on at the time of extraction for the whole duration.

Blowing the new map on takes 10 minutes and can be reset to standard within 10 minutes.

Overall im happy with the "remoteness" and the increase from my 450 tune to closer 600hp but its the torque increase especially at lower reves you notice the most.

What sort of amp output should I be looking at for the battery charger for this process? That's assuming I don't get a ridiculous insurance quote!

EDIT: Just ran through a quote with LV, based on an engine remap modification, and got a quote of £750ish, with protected NCD. That's up from around £400 on the last renewal with a different insurer, one that I know doesn't like modifications.

You'd need a BSU (Battery Support Unit) which kick out in excess of 50Amps, something your normal battery charger won't do. You can make one using a rack server PSU and making a few tweaks to it so that it outputs around 14vDC with the requisite amperage

Thank you very much. I am happy with my stock 340Hp/450Nm map and I haven't had the car long enough to think it's lacking power. Coming from a tuned turbo charged FWD, I'm enjoying the progressive and constant speed development of my first supercharged car. In my previous vehicle, the power increase was nice but it came at the expense of reliability and stability but it was a 2008 car and reasonably cheap to maintain compared to the F-type. I wonder what the extra torque and HP do to a daily, all year round base model in terms ride quality and reliability...

I was there in March with my V8S, thought they were really good, upper pulley and a remap took me from 530bhp (Jag only claim 495bhp) to 596bhp, main difference was however the increase in torque, feels much much quicker when accelerating through the gears!

Ah, a bit more than the 8A unit I have then! I think I'll just take a day out and let them do it, and include the 2 dyno runs. At least they are then responsible if there's a problem during the download/upload process and I don't have to faff about with extra stuff I'm not going to use again. Cheers for the info :)

Ah, OK. I tried getting them to quote when I got the car but they said I'd need to talk to their "high value cars" department and insurance there started at 1% of cost price, plus their profit plus extras plus insurance tax blah blah blah. In short, it was going to be at least double what LV wanted at the time so I said thank you but no thank you. Given the value of the car has dropped, I had thought about trying them again, but not at that sort of money.

Given my insurance is going to go up this year anyway - judging by all the reports from friends, I'm expecting it to hit £500 which my current insurers - I think a <£500 hit for the upgrade and change of insurer is going to be worth it for the extra giggles.

I vowed I wasn't going to modify this car, but I said the same about my 200SX when I bought it new back in 2000, and I made it to barely a day out of warranty before I caved!

Please don't post about doing 90 on the motorway.
Anything illegal isn't allowed on here.
Thanks.

Never mind the speed, the fuel economy while at that speed is the most outrageous thing I've ever read here! I can barely squeeze 300 miles with a full tank at speed limit, maybe Clarkson was right about going fast after all...

If you don't have to keep slowing down and speeding up, the car can be incredibly economical. Without trying to do it I breezed past 500 miles on well under a tank on the way back from Portugal a couple of years ago. That was with the cruise control set at the speed limit over there - 120kph (~75mph).
