Paint Lacquer Peeling

Hi all,<div><br></div><div>Cleaning the car this afternoon and a bit distressed to come across this kind of erosion on the front bumper of my 2014 F-Type! There's a section about 10cm in length where the chrome grill surround meets the bodywork. </div><div><br></div><div>There's already a couple of spots I've noticed closer up the bumper near where it meets the bonnet which I'm waiting to hear back from Jaguar about with regards to Paint Warranty but hadn't noticed this until today. Thoughts anyone? Kind of shocked that the lacquer is peeling on a car only just turned 2 years of age. Wouldn't expect this on my last SEAT Leon let alone a Jaguar F-Type!</div><div><br></div><div>Anyone got any experience? Is this the kind of thing I can trust the Jaguar Paint Warranty will cover? I hope so or there may be some choice words when I next hit the dealership... </div><div><br></div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/749/DSC_0811.JPG" height="393" width="700" border="0" /><br></div><div><br></div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/749/DSC_0809.JPG" height="393" width="700" border="0" /><br></div><div><br></div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/749/DSC_0812.JPG" height="393" width="700" border="0" /><br></div><div><br></div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/749/DSC_0813.JPG" height="393" width="700" border="0" /><br></div><div><br></div><div>Also noticed the chrome grill surround seems to have dropped down and doesn't quite sit flush on the body anymore but not sure if this is cheap design/jaguar build quality/defective...</div>

Hmm - doesn't look right and id expect Jag to sort it.<div><br></div><div>I have PPF across the front of mine - glad i did now!</div><div><br></div><div>Good luck - hope it gets sorted but push hard - i've had to with a couple of issues sadly.</div>

Report the issues ASAP and record everything with photos.<div><br></div><div>This should be a concern to anyone thinking of keeping the car long term.</div>

Thanks for the responses guys!<div><br></div><div>Yeah, not overly impressed with the quality of paint but I haven't seen anyone else suffering similar complaints on here so hopefully this is an isolated problem. </div><div><br></div><div>Will be on the phone first thing in the morning! </div><div><br></div><div>I'm currently waiting to book in for a professional detail and probably PPF on completion but constantly pushing that plan right whilst I wait for my bumper to be resolved!</div>

You bought the car second hand (?).......so i'm thinking that the dealer might have had the bumper re-sprayed prior to selling due to stone chip damage.......and sprayed badly.<br><br>Just a thought...<br>

<div><br></div><div>Interestingly got an e-mail from Jaguar this morning advising that the car looks as though it's been damaged and painted at the front end ref the photos. (Due to the way the bonnet and trims are positioned apparently.) They've advised to make an appointment at their body-shop for a full investigation.</div><div><br></div><div>I don't know whether to be concerned or not <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /></div><div><br></div><div>Or where I stand with the car depending on if/how much the car has been damaged and repaired in the past before being sold on to me through a dealership.</div>
