Hi All

As I wanted to check feasibility of changing the pollen filter on our F Type, I looked it up on the web and found it looked amazingly simple on these cars. So out I go to look and fine a horror story. As the filter is on the near side, I checked it and familiarised my self with the change, which I will do tomorrow. The horror story started on the offside as I was curious what was under the plastic panel there. To my horror, there was the brake fluid reservoir with NO cap on it!!!

I’ve never been happy with the brakes since we’ve had it, one year, this won’t help! In addition, I noticed a hose/ cable draped over the crossmember which to my eye, should be under it, any thoughts?

I'd be suggesting the purchase of a new cap and a full bleed of the system as I suspect the existing fluid will have absorbed some(!) moisture

I wonder if this car has been the victim of some pretty shoddy servicing. Trying not to use the word “cowboy” here. Good luck in sorting this out

Jaguar main dealer, Cheltenham! Two years ago they changed the brake fluid as part of the service!

And forgot to replace the cap? That wouldn't surprise me (not because of the specific dealer, though, I have no experience of them).

A coolant hose over a cross member seems normal, as it looks similar in my car. That shiny brown cover on yours looks odd but then again I'm very used to looking at AJ126 engine compartments but not so much used to the P300's engine compartment. Pic taken after my last service to point out to the dealer that they forgot one clip.

Completly unrelated but I couldn't help noticing two other things in your picture:

- The cover for the windshield wiper nut/bolt is missing.
- A chap in a youtube video claimed that the P300 doesn't have the bonnet airbags that all AJ126/133 F-Types (and many other Jags) have. Clearly not true because your has one.

Does anyone have a part number, or can point me in the right direction of a schematic of the parts for the cap? Jaguar Milton Keynes (Jardine) don't seem to want to pick the phone up!
