No sound with Android Auto

Good evening

I've just added one of these Android Auto/Carplay boxes to my 2015 Convertible (not the easiest thing in the world to do!), and all seems good except that music plays out of the phone instead of the car. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185951122746

By that I mean if I open the Spotify app on the car's screen, and press play, the sound comes out of my phone instead of the car.
This happens regardless of whether I connect wirelessly to Android Auto, or if I plugin via the USB cable. I've followed the advice of setting the car's Source Input to AUX

Does anyone have any experience of these devices and can shed any light on where I'm going wrong?

The solution was to return this item and get the much better IDCORE unit instead - https://unique-ad.co.uk/product/wireless-apple-carplay-and-android-auto-interface-for-jaguar-f-type-2015-2017/
This worked first time :)

Good choice.

The only frustration I've had with it is the variance between google maps nav volume and the music volume (on android auto).
