I've just bought an F type convertible s v6 2014 with 38000 miles on the clock. What should I look out for or do before my 3 month warranty runs out.
Thanks in advance,
Ron

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. :)

A couple of things from the top of my head. All are issues that will arise sooner or later...

- supercharger - check that it doesn't rattle
- coolant system and water pump - check that there are no coolant leaks anywhere
- windows - check for vertical stratches
- rear cross member bar under the car - check for excessive corrosion
- exhaust valves - check that they work properly and don't squeak
- the diff - check for any grinding or whining noises from the diff

Another thing that goes sooner or later on these cars are the O2 sensors but you'd notice that in the form of an amber engine warning light light.

If they are covered depends on what kind of warranty you have. A full fledged extended JLR warranty (at least here on the continent) covers all of that and much more and dealers are happy to replace parts under warranty at the slightest suspicion of something being out of the ordinary. Easy money for them. For instance I recently got a new diff under warranty due to a whine which probably wasn't a real issue and was just a bit louder than normal. In my last Jag I got a complete new supercharger under warranty (which wasn't actually necessary) just to see if it would help with another issue I had.

Since the OP only has 3 months of warranty it doesn't sound like a JLR warranty and the conditions may be a bit restrictive. I've read about all sorts of odd warranties in the UK that exclude lots of stuff so if it's not a warranty that comes with a JRL approved car I'd check the conditions very closely.

Just to clarify, the scratches occur on the door windows as a result of dirt getting on the window seals.
Also, check the diff seals for leaks.

And welcome to the club! :)

That is very promising and makes me want to take out an extended warranty when picking up mine this saturday .

Do it for some peace of mind. I'd never get an F-Type without a warranty unless I knew that all those typical issues were recently fixed.

Those things easily get into the thousands. Even a replacement of a cheap plastic part of the coolant system can get quite expensive because of all the labour needed to remove the supercharger in order to reach some coolant pipes. In my previous XF with the same engine I had to have the supercharger removed twice out of warranty. IIRC it was something like 7 hours of labour each time which gets quite expensive especially when done by a JLR dealer. And that's still peanuts compared to what a new diff or supercharger costs.
