Hello everyone,

Collecting my v6s 380 up this Saturday morning, can't wait!!

I've been a long time forum member of vx220.org & TheLotusForums.com after moving from a track VX220 Turbo Stage 4 and just sold my Lotus Exige v6s.

So had over 10 years of Lotus style cars so the F-Type is a big side step for sure.

So a BIG Hello to everyone from near Colchester :D

Hello mbes2

A warm welcome to the forum from me .. nice model the 380S well done

when ready let use know the spec and a few pics :D

regards

Welcome from another ex Lotus owner, loved my Elise 135 ...

There's quite a few of us joined the F-type ranks in Essex so I feel a mini meet coming on before the summer passes us by ...

I thought i recognised the name, im Timbo off of the vx forum (orange F type R)

Aarrh yep. Last time I saw you was the national event when you bought your F... beast!!

I found the exige never really filled the gap my vx left as a track car and I never really enjoyed it as a road car.. and after the test drive in the F I knew what I wanted for sure.

Welcome from another ex Lotus owner. I had an Elise and then an Exige (57 plate) and my wife had an Elise (we met through our interest in Lotus cars!).

I think of the Lotus cars as our young sports car phase and now the F-type is our more refined grown-up sports car 😁

Enjoy!

OMG I LOVE IT!!!!

The jag sound makes the exige v6 seem like a normal car....

Very different feel to driving as the extra weight is very much noticeable but the whole car package makes up for that for sure

Hey mbes2, you didn't keep your Exige too long did you! I'm in a similar position, have had a modded tubby for over ten years now, been looking at Exiges but to be fair the VX owners that have swopped to the Exige v6 haven't exactly raved about them. The F-type seems a good option for something a bit more grown up, have test drove a brand new 380 bhp v6s a couple of months ago, although a v8 would be my choice if I made the swop. How do you find the 380s performance compared to your vx/ Exige? Do you miss the raw, light track focused feel of the fibre glass toys?

lotus group hug ......

only joking before you all start !!!

and just noticed 300 posts .... :)

Its funny, as I started off thinking like this, wanting a v8 but its over kill for road use, where the 380 is a perfect middle ground, even the 335 I test drove felt quick.

I know the 380 + weight of the jag makes it slower than the exige but the whole experience driving it is 100 times better for me. The exige was a lot slower than my VX (350bhp+925kg) but I used that as a track car, where the exige needed money spent on it to make it a better track focused toy, which I was unwilling to do again.

I love everything about the F-Type, ticks all my boxes now for what I need from it, with hopefully many happy years ahead.

Very nice, chrome detailing and the wing mounted leapers pull it together ,,,, health to enjoy and see you at the mini meet ... Rgds Paul
