New Member, F-Type arriving September

Hi all

New member here, making the move from the XE S to the F-Type Coupe 3.0 V6 (380) MY19.5.

I paid my deposit this week and now have a long, agonising wait until September. Still, that's not as bad as my wait for the XE S - I put the deposit down on that in October 2014 for a July 2015 delivery!

This will be my 3rd Jaguar, the first being a 2.2D XF. I really enjoyed my XE S, but I've always wanted an F-Type.

The spec of my new car is:

Santorini Black
20" Split-Spoke 'Style 6003' wheels
Privacy glass
Black brake calipers
Panoramic roof
Cirrus leather/suedecloth sports seats
Flat-bottomed steering wheel
Configurable ambient interior lighting
Front parking aid
Rear view camera
Park assist
Blind spot assist & rear traffic monitor

Roll on September! :)

Haha! Hi PhilB, I didn't know you were in here too :D

I just help out with any moderation, not that it's needed on here.
Most exciting thing I've had to do is help to turn a picture the right way up.
:D

Well, I wouldn't say the XE forum is particularly rowdy either :)

I now have a firm date for handover - Monday 10th September. I popped down to the dealer today (Harwoods in Brighton) and I have to say, the service I've had from them is excellent. Granted, all salespeople are nice, but I've been dealing with Tony there and I'd recommend him to anyone.

The car was delivered earlier in the week. It's not prepped or anywhere near ready (it's still in transport mode), but I was able to go and see it in their storage site. In some ways, I wish I hadn't seen it, as now it feels very real and I have a month of sleepless nights to endure.

On handover, I'm having the car transported to Auto Wax Works in Bicester to get it fully wrapped in PPF - black is not a good colour for hiding swirls, so PPF and a ceramic sealant will help keep it in showroom condition. So the car won't be fully mine until 15th September.

So, 5 weeks today then. The longest 5 weeks of my life... :geek:

Just try not to melt the tyres on your new one!
;)

Haha! Hi PhilB, I didn't know you were in here too :D

I will drive my F-Type very, very sedately, honest!

Fair enough until you get used to its feel - be sure to give it the odd ragging after though - it would be rude not to :D

..and the sooner you'll be able to swap the Pirellis from some Pilot Sport 4S ;)

Why not try to trade them in [new..] before taking delivery ? Asking doesn't cost you.. ... the Michelins SS4 will be a bit dearer,
but from all sides we've been told its another car with these tires... ... better take off on the 'right footing' from the start.. ;)

To be fair, even driving it "sedately" will see off most other cars! ;)

I'll ask, though the car has already been built and the tyres have already been driven on, albeit only 6 miles so far.

I wouldn't mind keeping the P Zeros for now and swapping at a later date. It would be good to see the difference. I've got an XE-S at the moment and that's always had P Zeros.

Hi there, I did some tracksessions on the circuit of zolder(Belgium) last week and actually I am quit happy with the P-zero tires.
the brakes however were really underpowered.
So be glad the s-model has the 380mm discs.
the right tyrepressure is really important!

Wish you a lot of fun with your new f-type and safe driving.

Corne,

You did buy your car used, or am I mistaken ? With more then 30.000km on the clock, yours aren't OEM!

Probably the previous owner replaced them and the aftermarket are a different story all together it seems.

Hey Dan, 9000 km actually.
So I think they are the oem tyres.
By the way, I invited some other forummembers for a tour in Noord Brabant or Zeeland, and like to organize it, starting of in Breda.
Interested? see all so a new Belgium owner at the introduction.

greetings Corne

Hi Corne,

Just came back from two weeks holidays, forgot to take my passwords along !
Sure, if I don't have an other appointment, I'd love to come.

Dan
