New Car Disaster

My Jag has been delivered to the dealership in Crawley, only for me to be told it has the wrong spec! it has a fixed rear spoiler insted of panoramic fixed sunroof. I have been told I can buy the wrong spec car with fee for sunroof taken off, but with free spoiler, wait six to eight weeks for a new car, or take my deposit and go. No sorry or any attempt to sort thing out!! Who said customer service is dead?? It is at the Crawley Jag centre <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley35.gif" border="0" alt="Censored" title="Censored" /><br>

Holy S**t that is awful pal,<div><br></div><div>I would not make do with what you have got as you specified the car how you wanted it in the first place!! I would get them to reorder to your spec with some added value as a gesture of goodwill and the inconvenience of having to go through the wait again.</div><div><br></div><div>If they will not then take your money and perhaps try elsewhere, who was at fault the dealer? or perhaps whomever inputted the wrong info further down the line?</div><div><br></div><div>All in all not good , I feel for you mate.</div><div><br></div>

Sucks :( No way I'd take it without the sunroof, but equally in 6-8 weeks summer will be over....I think it's worth persisting though, once you HAVE the car all the niggles fall away.<div></div><div>Push them to pay for a 6 week hire/lend you one to tide over some of the gap? They won't do all of it, but you might get a decent goodwill gesture, it's worth a try. I've found I have to provide options rather than wait to see what is proffered, so maybe get inventive about what you'd like....</div><div> </div><div>Good luck :S</div><div> </div><div>Jess</div>

I'd call Jaguar Customer Service, not the dealer. Its likely the dealer not trying to go the extra mile.<div>Jag customer service were so good to me in the lead up to my car being delivered. So much so that they even put "ASAP" on the order and it arrived a few weeks early!</div><div><br></div><div>I'm sure they will take care of you</div><div><br></div><div>0345 303 2303</div>

What they all said above. New car in the spec you want, with an F-Type loaner for now and a discount for inconvenience.<div><br></div><div>Awful. </div>

Exactly as above.<div><br></div><div>Maybe ask the dealership what they intend to do to compensate you for their **** up? If they fail to impress again you can always contact customer service.</div>

What really bothers me about this, isn't the fact that someone made a mistake but the apparent complacency in dealing with the aftermath. Sounds like take it or leave it and go to the back of the queue!<br> <br>What happens if there's a problem sometime after delivery, is the attitude going to be the same? I'd be feeling if they're this crap they don't deserve my business and I'd be walking away. <br><br>Which is what I did following a lacklustre attitude when trying to buy from different franchise of the same dealership as yours. So I moved on and ended up buying 2 cars from Derek Saupin in Guildford who I remember was particularly thorough with the order details and also spot on with the delivery times. Might be worth going and having a conversation to see what a different dealer group can come up with.<br><br> <br> <br>

That's terrible news and was exactly what I was afraid was going to happen with mine. I hope you get it sorted out.

<div><br></div><div>Good afternoon CBSR, </div><div><br></div><div>Thank you for your post. </div><div><br></div><div>I am sorry to learn that the vehicle that has been delivered has not met your correct specification. I would be more than happy to look into this for you, however in order for me to do so, I will require your vehicle and contact details to be provided by PM.</div><div><br></div><div>Many thanks,</div><div>Amellia</div>
