I have it on good authority from my dealer that we will be getting the new 2WD 2016 V8R Cab third week of April!<div><br></div><div>That's quite a few sleeps, and I watched every video known to man on the tinterweb back in August last year before my V8S arrived - I've resorted to watching vids of the gorgeous C-X75 and wondering, why oh why the top brass didn't make a cheaper, version (if it could be done?).</div><div><br></div><div>I look forward to doing a full blown comparison between the V8S cabriolet and the V8R and posting the findings online.</div><div><br></div><span style="line-height: 1.4;">Any suggestions on what to watch/do in the meantime?</span><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/332/Screen_Shot_2015-02-15_at_20.06.02.png" height="497" width="700" border="0" /><br><div><br></div><div><br></div>

Hi Tel, <br /><br />Great news and looks like you've specced up your new one very similar to your current one. I guess that you will be returning your present car soon but now would be an ideal time to try out any new detailing products you had in mind to try prior to the arrival of a more perfect example of what Jaguar is all about. Trust it all works out in the end and look forward to reading your review of the new model.<br /><br />Regards.<br /><br />Paul

I would try watching documentations about natural history, that way it will take you mind off of it !! Just avoid anything to do with south america, I have heard that there are some big cats there !

The V8S I currently have is specced up pretty much to the hilt apart from CC brakes and the Meridian sound system, both of which I don't feel are required.<div><br></div><div>The replacement V8R Cabriolet has pretty much the same interior, it's red R seats now with red/jet two tone and black leather dash with red stiching. I have added the upper Jet suede around the windscreen, the Homelink garage door opener, Blade wheels (For ease of cleaning), dual zone heating (Found this to be a requirement after lots of winter roof down driving). The rest is pretty much standard now that was an option on the S.</div><div><br></div><div>On the 2016 F Type there are key upgrades to the dash electronics and sat nav (as now found on the XE) around 30% faster and more slick, and a different GUI. Torque vectoring by braking, EPAS ( which I'm still wanting in anticipation about!), faster reacting electronic diff and the rear venturi and side sills are now in body colour (unfortunately no option for black :-(), to name but a few.<br><div><br></div><div>Just looking through the new 2016 F-Type Brochure...that's wetted my appetite for now, more than Natural History :-)</div></div>

Thats a bummer about the side sills, as the black sills looked fantastic on the V8S, did you go for memory seats as well ?<div></div><div>Best Regards</div><div>Jamie</div>

I'm dying to get my hands on mine, cannot find any way of "forgetting" the car! Are you going for caldera red or IRR? From all the problems I've read about the Merdian and the poor value for money (because the bad Jaguar system is already of a very good level) I've also not taken that system. Besides the bases are provided curtsey of the V8

Paul,<div><br></div><div>Caldera looks OK in the new 2016 brochure, however, I'm not too sure how it would look in real life.</div><div>Having had the IRR for nigh on 6 months, I just think it's great, so have specced IRR for the V8R Convertible.</div><div><br></div><div>My V8S has the standard sound system in. 180 W is more than enough to play my tunes on, and TBH, I am more interested in listening to what the engine is telling me from the exhaust.</div><div>Standard fitment in the R is the Meridian system - I for one hope that the issues some owners have had with vibrations and rattling have been cured for the 2016 batch!</div><div><br></div><div>Like you, I am exited about getting my new model. Fortunately I have my V8S which keeps my hunger nearly at bay! As Jamie says, try reading some Natural History books! That should tai your mind off the car <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /></div>

<div> Latest news - Build date for the replacement car is the second week of March, delivery could be April!</div><div><br></div><div> I'm assured this car is going via SVO for them to cast their beadie eye over it before delivery.<br><div><br></div><div>Y----I----P-----P----E-----E!</div></div>

Hi Tel,<br><br>Great news - hope they get the 'A' Team building it and turn the sprayer on properly this time around!<br><br>Fingers crossed.<br><br>Regards.<br><br><br>Scoobydoo<br>

<div>Hopefully BA Baracus will be getting the team up to speed this time <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /> </div><div><br></div><div>Interestingly we visited another dealer last week and looked over a MY2015 R-Type on the forecourt in IRR. Me and the other half went over to take a good look at the paint, and guess what, it's a flat finish. I'd give it 8 out of 10 and I've got eyes like a shy$e hawk! So they Can do it!</div>

Surely it will take you longer to flat it all back Jamie? <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />
