My 400 Sport

I was test driving (now purchased) a black 400 Sport in Swindon today and saw an identical one during the drive.

Other driver gave me a thumbs up and I waved, wondering if they are on here too

What a fortunate stroke of serendipity!

Looking forward to seeing you around in it 😊

Thanks all,

Picked it up yesterday and had an enjoyable drive back from Swindon to Milton Keynes.

Felt good to be back in one after all these years!

I'll be taking it to the Alps in a couple of weeks for a road trip with friends so looking forward to that

Will keep an eye out for any local cars too

Took a quick photo, I'm sure I'll have better ones in the Alps!

Nice, so what are you going to do with the spare wheel? I imagine that could make boot space hard for a trip to the alps.

I'm assuming it is the 400 that I saw in Swindon (which is close to me), it looked nice

Yes it's the one from Grange in Swindon. I got them to put it through the AUC process so it's now got a Jag warranty on it, as well as them agreeing to sort some paintwork I wasn't happy with on the front bumper as part of the deal, as well as getting some money knocked off. All in a good deal for both sides.

I'll keep the spare in the boot for now and I'll be fine for the Alps as I won't have a passenger so a soft bag in the boot and passenger footwell will be fine!

I was disappointed to find out I couldn't put the UAD Carplay unit into it though. I thought it would be a Harman system and straightforward but when I opened the centre console flap it looked different to what their website showed and after checking they said they didn't have a solution for my 2017 car

If you've got 'JCK' in your VIN then you could upgrade to the 10.2" unit but you will lose the 'soft' climate controls

Yours might be similar to mine. My car is from late 2017, it has the Harman system... of the F-Pace! It was a nightmare for my rev camera fitter to get it installed properly. He only got it done 'cause he's a pro and committed to get the job done. You would need at least based on his feedback, a conversion cable harness to turn the I/O connector similar to what you'd expect on a 2018 model year. Then the UAD system should work.

That's interesting to read, mine is like this, which wasn't what I was expecting.

Where is your guy based please?

Name is Mark at Automotive Solutions in Brighouse, West Yorkshire 07710 962101

Tell him the Brazilian owner of the "mogrel F-type" sent you... that should ring a bell 😊

Got yourself a beauty there! You won’t stop gazing at it forever now!! :D

I hope he stops gazing while he's driving it!
Let’s hope so mate

I'll definitely be driving it! It'll be my daily so won't be a garage queen.

I've had a V6S before and then had a couple of R8s and a 911 Turbo, but wanted something I could use more regularly instead of having two cars.

Oh how refreshing when people buy an F-type for daily use... I think a lot of reported issues come from the car not being driven properly and regularly.
