MoT and OBD Port

Just loitering in my local MoT station and mentioned to them about the issue with connecting to the OBD port and the battery issues; there is actually a note on the DVSA MoT computer about NOT connecting to the port on Jaaaags. Perhaps a gentle reminder when taking your car in for MoT would prevent this happening

Thanks.

I have an MOT tomorrow, and it's not at my usual service centre as they're booked up until mid November.

Here's the guidance notice from DVSA to MOT stations from 02/24

Section 3. & 3.1 for the list

Note that it does not cover F Types, although listing several JLR models and year ranges.
Certainly worth pointing out to them

"The problem happens when the instrument panel cluster sees a functional request for a diagnostics service it doesn’t support, leaving it unable to go to sleep."

I can only imagine the reaction of software engineers at JLR reading this BS that the marketing people sent to the government 😂
