Morning, long time member but this is my first post.
So last week a sudden misfire started on my drive home. A bit of checking on here and I was fairly certain it was a faulty injector, especially as the car started fine after it had cooled later.
Due to an imminent trip to the Lake District I booked it in with Nottingham JLR who have previously serviced the car. I drove it steadily and without too many issues to the dealer. They confirmed the same day that it was an injector and quoted me £1100 for replacement…..
Rang me yesterday to say that they snapped the injector and wanted another 2 hours authorising…. At £204 an hour…. And a specialist had to be booked to remove the injector. They were unable to tell me a final cost or even give me an estimate.
Has anyone been in this situation before and Is there precedence for discounts on main dealer rates due to them snapping the injector?
Any help would be appreciated!
