Le Mans facts and figures

A late and short le mans run for us this year. Left home on friday at 10:30 am, back home by 9:50 last night.

766 miles
Average speed 64mph
29.5 mpg

Which I thought was pretty good considering we sat at about 85 mph all the way down (the french police are very strict at le mans time) with a little hooning when appropriate and a couple of 30 min hold ups (very slow moving for several miles).

The way back we were in convoy, lots of backroads, lots of accelerating and arsing about and then the tunnels ;)

Only saw 2 other ftypes, both on the campsite (porsche curves) a white one (I only saw the roof) and a very nice firesand SVR.

Not done the Le-mans trip for a few years now. Fond memories brought back by your posting. Great place to go. We used to hire a chateau some distance from the track which slept 12. Always did the convoy. Brilliant.

That's worth a thought. Enough F-types & even some E-types that would turn some heads. Could see Jaguar using us for so promo ads.

I was at Porsche curves with the svr. Great camp site but Porsche curves not the best place for race action, I think arnage is the best for that.
